Sewer help!! May include a minor spoiler!

Ok,I am now in the sewers in Temple district.There is this door at the top of the map,I have understood that there is somesort of illithid lair,or something like that.How do I get in??? I have tried so many times,in my every singe game,and I have never been able to get in.Whats in there anyway?

To get inside, you must first do the Windspear Hills quest. You'll eventually fight Tazok, who has a key called 'Sewer Key' among his loot. This ekey can be used to open the door, which leades to a lair of Illithids, or Mind Flayers if you want.

How many lives does this guy have? I already killed him twice in BG1.

What!! I need THAT key!! I have always thrown that away,thinking that I must have used this already...but cant really remember where. Where were my brains again??

You can always use shadowkeeper to get the key back.

What I really like about the "Recurring Tazok" motif is that, if you turn the Subtitles on, you can see what he says as he attacks you:
"Oh sure! Touch me like you know me! Now I kill you TWICE!"
