Whats up with the improved mages component? Every time I enter an area, every mage/sorc fires up *ALL* their protective spells including the spell triggers. Even Ribald fired his spell trigger. Is this supposed to happen, cuz this really kills the roleplay idea when you're about to face mages in a fight.

Yes, it's supposed to happen.
What's going on is that you're seeing all of the protections that those mages, like your own (if you're an experienced mage-buffer) put up in the morning before they went to work. Wes COULD have just as easily applied them silently but this way, you can at least see what you're up against.

I bet you cast protection spells before a big fight, and you're the biggest fight those mages are gonna see...
