"Barbarian" Inquisitor

I’m playing a fun character at the moment – the idea was a sort of barbarian anti-magic user (anti-shaman?) sort of character. (I know this forum is largely dead but I’ve been re-reading it recently as I’ve picked the game back up so hey-ho, where else am I going to put this? )

I’ve implemented her as an inquisitor. (I toyed with the idea of doing a wizard slayer, possibly dualled thief, but decided against – I tend to abandon games when duals get reactivated. And a straight wizard slayer would have removed too much collecting items fun for me).

I’ve self limited to leather armours for ‘character’ reasons (from the steppes, fast mobile fighter…) plus ‘thief female’ is my favourite avatar*. Doing so has (for me) justified cheating grandmastery in the relatively weak** daggers which I do manually in shadowkeeper after each 3rd level up. Next weapon will be maces. I also only carry as many weapons as I can fit in my quickslots. I’ve also weaned myself off (improved) kitthix for early levelling – a good thing.

The harder fights (improved shadow druids, random city encounters) have been entertaining but do-able but taken a lot of resources like healing potions – seems appropriate. I’m not over resting either – maybe I won’t finish this with hundreds of potions in my inventory.

When she gets HLAs I’m going to throw one away (battle cry?) to justify her wearing Vhailor's helm which I’ll also treat as unremovable (sacrificing the other helm of balduran bonuses). I’ll be treating that simulacrum as some sort of ‘summon ancestor’ thing. And then another HLA to ‘allow’ me to potion swap summon nishru/hakeashar. I haven’t decided yet whether to play with doing the same with things like ‘spell immunity’ or ‘spell trap’.

** that said I’ve been quite impressed with pixie prick – things don’t get put to sleep that often but it’s a nice little bonus when they do and the sound effect makes it feel like you’ve won a prize. I’ll be making quietus (item upgrade mod) but I hope it keeps the sound effects
