Rogue skills ? --maybe SPOILER!
Is *Stealing* for pickpocketing? And *Deft Hands* for lockpicking? If you want to be able to pick locks well, do you need any points AT ALL in Stealing? Or do you have to advance both abilities?

All locks have a difficulty score that your cunning need to beat. The Deft hands skill gives a bonus of about 20 cunning per level for the purpose of lockpicking.

You don't need Stealing for that. In fact, you don't need the make traps thing for disarming traps either, since the Mechanical Device/Deft Hands skill will enable you to disable traps. The traps skill will enable you to spot them from farther away though.
