Silly question

Hi,

I know this is probably in the documentation somewhere, but what is the opposite of Openblk for use in the $Block command. I did a search and read that it is BlockedBlk, but this did not work for me. Maybe I have a syntax error though.

Hmm...it seems it would be BlockedBlk, doesn't it? I would have to look in the code, but I think that maybe it is different.

But, you can get by with only using OpenBlk.

The trick is having the event fire as part of your opening sequence so that the party can walk through the area until you "take away" the change and it reverts to being a blocked wall.

Sorry, but I thought "BlockedBlk" does not work, and that you have to use the "remove Level ASL" option to accomplish this! Did "BlockedBlk" work????

I didn't get BlockedBlk to work, I don't think Budzo did either. I just offered my solution, which is essentially removing the ASL.

Interestingly, yesterday I tried to do the same thing via GPDL script (so that I would not have two use several logic blocks, but only one), but it also did not work. However, the script was accepted as valid.

Ah yes.

I get this all the time.

There is nothing wrong with the GPDL Editor, it is only checking syntax, not content.
Conversely, your script that crashed DC failed the syntax test but worked in the engine.

I don't think there are any plans to change this, but if there is enough of a vibe in the community to change what the editor does, maybe we can do something for version 1.5.
