SoA plot
Just to liven things up,,, the part when you first get to the Promenade, why is that plot device so weak? Why does JI just submit to the Cowls? Seems he could blast them. AAMOF, the PC and his party, with careful planning and a little cheese, can beat the Cowls. Is Spellhold a place JI wants to find? And he doesn't know where it is,,,,so gets the Cowls to send him there? Your ideas please!!

Sure, he could waste all the Cowls, recapture the PC, and drag everyone back down to his dungeon, but that would mean trying to continue his experiments while enduring constant interruptions from more Cowls out for revenge. And Jon hates interruptions, they really get on his nerves.
