Spoiler
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ A dash of idle curiosity here. Does any frequenter of this forum have any elegant, entertaining or unusal methods of red dragon disposal? I would dearly love to hear your tales of wyrm disposal. One of the ways my party of ner-do-wells suceeded was to run quicky away after first meeting him in his big lair. Then on the edge of detection my weavers of art merrily lobbed area effect dweomers into the creatures vicinity. Acid fogs, acid storms, stinking clouds, ice storms, cloudkills, and skull traps. End result, one dissolved and suffocated beastie. cherrio [ 10-17-2002, 07:31 AM: Message edited by: Dundee Slaytern ]

If you're lucky I think it is either Six of Spades or Dundee Slaytern who has come up with some of the most interesting ways to take down a dragon. I don't mean so much as strategy-wise, but they are by far some of the most entertaining ways I've heard.

Actually, FSA, I think that was Kangaxx.
![]() Maybe not so "amusing" but my friend refused to legitimately fight Firkraag. He spent two weeks, with a cleric, trying to cast harm. ![]()

Place a lot of traps around him, rest if needed, than make him hostile.
![]() Very cheesy, but casting area spells is, too.

What about a Spell Trigger full of Lower Resistances with a sequencer of Great Malison and, maybe, 2 Flame arrows. Then a single FoD finishes the beast
![]() ![]() Pelting him to death with Melf's Minute Meteors, regripping on your SotM after each attack so staying invis should also be funny, but cheesy ![]()

Probably contains some spoilers
![]() * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Easy. Let's take Firekraag. Go to the copper corronet in the slums district. Inside, talk with Lord Firekraag and agree to help him. Make sure Anomen stays out of your line of sight the entire time (may take some reloading, there's an autosave as you enter so no problem there). Journey to the Windspear Hills (this may require you to go to the City Gates first). Kill the ogres, and make your way through Firekraag's dungeon any way you can. Once the way is clear and you're about to initiate the final fight, go back to the surface. (This is where it gets tricky) Travel to the slums district. Turn off your sound. Enter the Coronet and... talk to Anomen. Make sure you get him to go with you using as few words as possible (to ensure he uses few as well). Next, hurry back to Jeirdan's lair. Monsters might have respawned, but you've no time to toy with them now. Run down to Firekraag. Remove any armour and weapons and other items from Anomen, save perhaps a few herbs. Shove him in the dragon's direction, hide around a corner. Tell Anomen to walk forward. Hopefully, the dragon will eat Anomen, and die from indigestion. If not, remove Anomen from your party and leave instead. Firekraag will now die from annoyance, this can take anywhere between 1 hour and 139 days. You can now turn our sound back on again. If Anomen is indeed not eaten, you can retrieve him after 140 days to slay any of the other dragons. Otherwise you'll have to use an Aerie. Good hunting ![]() |

There is no satisfaction to be gained by abusing fatal flaws in the game coding to kill Dragons. Nay my good people. We must strive to work within the logical confines of the game and endevour to stamp our authority upon these reptilian beasts of arrogance.
No hiding behind pillars or lurking in the shadows to cast Cloudkills! No setting traps blatantly in front of Dragons! No! No! No, no, no, no! Instead, we shall actually talk to them first before laughing maniacally as they gasp with disbelief before dying within rounds, not turns! Dragons, despite what you might think, are very prone to magical attacks. A few Lower Resistances, a Greater Malison, and a Doom, and you have a Dragon who is most probably wishing that the scary bogeyman go away. ![]() Chromatic Orb( from a level 12+ caster) is one of the easiest way to bring a Dragon to its' knees. Yeah, yeah, yeah... it has a +6 save bonus, but take into consideration how many times you can cast Chromatic Orbs rapidly, and how many times the Dragon can keep making its' saving throw. ![]() Spook is another great spell to literally terrify them Dragons. ![]() Magic Missile barrage is one of the most brainless tactics ever, but still efficient. Fill your (Minor) Spell Sequencers and Spell Triggers with Magic Missiles and have your Mage(s) constantly cast Magic Missile till the Dragon can take no more and collapse to the ground, throughly perforated. MuWahHAHAHAHA!!!! Lets humilate some Dragons... ... Astute readers will note that I have only mentioned level one spells for the offensive. ![]() Firkragg the Squirrel |

A cheesy way is if you are a monk and simply use your quivering palm...it leaves you very unsatified...
