Hello,
I have a question as to a choice to make in order to complete my party. I'll have a paladin, ranger/cleric, mage/cleric, bard, and #6 will depend on #5. Number 5 could be a fighter/thief or else a mage/thief - any suggestions??? Both look really good. Thanks. - Twilight

If it was up to me, I would take a single class thief and a druid as the last two members. The choices would depend on whether (a) you are playing IWD only or have the expansions installed, and (b) what difficulty level you are playing on.

I'd have a halfling F/T. Don't worry, the thieving skills will be attained and I'd go with a straight mage.

I'd agree with the guy above me, I'd have a fighter/thief halfing and a fighter/mage.

Hello,
why the halfling fighter/thief instead of a dwarf fighter/thief? - Twilight

Because Haflings are the best thieves in the game. The reason that you also make him a fighter is for 1) the hit point advantage and 2) when he uses a short bow or if need be a short sword in melee' he does so as a fighter. Better "to hit" capabilities. Of course, he won't be a front line tank, but this, along with a Gnome Cleric/Illusionist (essential in my book) is a fun combination. I also agree with the guy above me about the Fighter/Mage multiclass. Very handy indeed.

Hello,
I noticed, for me, that BG1 was largely archery followed by melee, with a few spells. BG2 was simulataneous melee and spellcasting. Same here, in the dale? I'm trying to decide whether to go fighter heavy or magic heavy, cleric favored or mage favored with my party (maybe I'll add that elven fighter/mage)? - Twilight
