Hi board.

I’m fairly new to this game, but have upgraded my computer and now I’m experiencing a problem. I was playing the game in DX7 mode; I put in a new graphic card and CPU (a Sapphire radion 9700 and an AMD XP2400+ but the frame rate slowed right down and the game juddered along. I swapped to OpenGL mode and it now runs fine…well apart from a 5 by 4 black grid across the screen!!
Does anyone have any ideas if that’s normal or how to get rid of it??? It’s quite annoying!!

Cheers
Target

Well as far as openGL mode, I don't think ATI supports open gl so you might be running in software mode.

As for why it runs slow in d3d thats too complicated from the information you gave.
It shouldnt. It could be anything from sound settings to drivers etc. Make sure you mess with everything.

I got sad news to tell you, wiz8 doesn't support latest ATI radeon graphic cards. what ever you do, it won't make a difference. I got ATI Radeon 8500 128mb LE. I can see blocks, movement was too sluggish and the game shutter so much that I have to take the graphic card off and put back my old voodoo 3 2000.
