Well... I'm in Luskan in Chapter 2, and I've got 75K worth of gold in my backpack.

Oddly enough, I can't find anything better to spend it on than what I have...

I'm a barbarian 9 / Fighter 1 / Blackguard 1 (yeah, dumb I know, but I didn't read the manual until 10 hours in and saw I needed cleave to become a blackguard) weilding a +2 Great Sword, Belt of Inertial Resistance, +2 Hammer, +1 Tower Shield, Broewind Family Armour (sp), and Thyvian Circlet for a helm, Lesser Guantlets of Ogre Power (Greater don't do anything for me as I already have 20ST), Boots of Reflexes +3, and Cloak of Elvenkind.

So my question is... what the heck am I supposed to do with 75K??? Is there going to be somewhere to spend it in Chapter 3? Or is there somewhere in Chapter 2 I missed before I came to Luskan?

*shrug*

I just left Luskan today for the beginning of chapter 3 and have 220,000 gold. I spent some before entering Luskan by buying a 30,000 gold sword which I still have, but yeah, I don't know what to do with it all either.

Oh and I don't think you can use craft in the OC or even SoU. At least that's what one of the tips said when saving and loading on the screen below the bar. It said they are only available in HotU.

I know what you mean, I'm a fighter and have loads of gold as well...is it just fighter types who get loads, or have less to spend it on?
I've taken to saving all my gems and things so now I've lots of nice shiny things to look at in my pack!!

What I did was spend all of my money on potions of Heal, right before the final battle started - thereby pretty much ensuring I couldn't lose.

On a related note... I really hate non-stackable gems/minerals. Thanks for the answers guys... Now I know I can spend my money on the first nice shiny trinket that comes my way.

Actually, why am I even still adventuring... I have 75K, own my own inn (admittedly in a city I can't go to anymore). You'd think I'd just retire and watch pit fights all day

Don't know about fighter types getting all the gold as I'm just a humble cleric.

Save it for Hordes of the Underdark. You are gonna need about 2 million, there.

I bought a ring of Lesser Power either at the end of two or the beginning of three. It regenerates you a point every thirty seconds or so. It won't save yer butt in a tough battle, but it will help in recovery and resting times. You can take a licking and keep on ticking...

The cost of items gradually goes up too, so don't get in a hurry to spend all your cash in Ch. 2 cuz you're gonna need it.
