Her is a news update I got from www.annemccaffrey.org :

DRAGON RIDERS: CHRONICLES OF PERN RELEASING FOR THE PC & SEGA DREAMCAST
AUGUST 7!

See, for the first time ever, the World of Pern...

For centuries the dragons of Pern and their riders have protected their
world from the alien Thread. Mightiest among the dragons are the gold
dragons, and their riders--the Weyrwomen--are the leaders of the free
people of Pern. But now your Weyrwoman is dead, and her gold dragon lays
dying. Unless you can find a new Weyrwoman to take up her mantle, your
weyr--and perhaps all of Pern--is doomed.

- Adventure-style gameplay through four chapters of an epic storyline

- Guide your Dragon Rider through over 120 richly detailed locations on
three continents

- Work in tandem with your bronze dragon to solve puzzles and explore
the world

- With the aid of your trusted fire lizard, interact and speak with over
170 characters

"This rich tapestry of the Pern mythology makes the game feel so much
deeper than most and fans of the series will rejoice in its incredible
attention to detail." --Daily Radar, 3/2/01

Sounds pretty interesting, but I haven't seen it in stores. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough.

Lioness are you sure that the dates right? In the Egm mag I just read (Which was an August issue.) said the game was only 30% complete. I don't think it's even close to being done yet. Of course I could have the date wrong. So far the designers have done a good job of catching the feel of Pern. Look at some of the pics, (Trust me you'll find some.) and you'll see what I mean. If this game comes to PS2, i'll buy it. I've been a big fan of Pern since the Dragon Song books. Whatever happened to our favorite Master Harper anyway?

Well I have seen a few reviews for the game and so I presume they are about to release the game. But on the down side they all complain that the game has a lot of bugs (I really hope they sort this out before the game comes out).

Well as I am a read nearly all the books so I am going to try the game. Maybe they will put out a demo soon.
