On the "1 character limping back to town" as Fantaghiro said...I've only seen a character die once in a blue moon, and that was generally due to an ID ten T error on my part (like casting an area spell far too close). I have yet to see the "death screen" if there is one...where as I understand, you quite often see the "melting hand of death" sequence in BG2.

Also know that I as a general rule play my games at the hardest level setting. Makes for some VERY interesting encounters (read my last submission to "Giggling so Hard")

The game is not insufferably hard, but it's challenging enough that you will give a whoop after those VERY major encounters. There's nothing in the game that can defeat you if you use the proper strategy...even the "Mantraps" (and no more on that so I don't spoil anything!)

As Fantaghiro says, it's now selling at around $20, which is a true bargain. If you have $20 you feel you can "blow", go on and try it...I've spent far more for games that I ended up hating. I have a feeling you'll like this one, though.

What are Wintels?

Thanks!

Sorry, my geek-ness shining through...
Wintels => Windows running Intel based boxes. The term is used primarily by those who use other OS platforms ie, Mac (Apple), Unix, Linix, BeOS, Debian, etc...

No worries on keeping the the username off other boards. I went through a problem after posting my web-based email addy on a finance board. Of all spammers, boiler-room brokers are the worst. I had to cancel and rebuild a new account...

If I had my druthers, I would rather that those on this board new me to the extent of those on that one and that those on that one didn't know my username at all. Please respect this.

Onthepequod: "Whoosh!" (sound of it going right over my head). I didn't understand that at all...it sounds like you're wanting privacy, but from whom or what???

Saz, USB and TMF are finace discussion boards. They represent what is best and worst of the Net.

Best: Great, up-to-the-minute info on stocks, funds, and company research. The cost is a fraction of what you would pay a broker, and the disussion boards are free, so if you find some foks you trust, you can feel very good about your investments...

Worst: Finance Spammers are the worst. Some boiler-room brokers got my secondary email, and were able to track down my phone numbers and home/business addys... It's the reason I canceled my MSN account, and I won't reopen it, even to use MSN messenger to talk to everyone at GD...

Onthepequod is trying to keep his head down over THERE...

Right you are RudeDawg.

Although, it would seem, that I apparently misunderstood your earlier question. USB is the ticker not the board. The board is simply the Yahoo Finance Board (you get a lot of corporate rumor that way).

Ahhh, thanks. Well, I don't think anything like that will happen over here. I understand about trying to keep spammers away. Talk about the lowest form of swamp life!

Please don't get me wrong, I wasn't trying to insinuate that it would happen over here. Just trying to be careful with information over there (just in case something unlikely happened).
