well this is now the second time I experiences this bug. My monk sometimes has 95 hitpoints and sometimes 73! I dont know why this happens, sometimes when I enter the game he has 95 HP and other times only 73. Does anyone know why this happen, and how it could be fixed. I would welcome any help!
EDIT: wow, I am now an elite waterdeep guard... [ 06-04-2003, 12:36 PM: Message edited by: TordenkalveN ] |

Do you always have the same constitution? That usually makes a difference (like, all the time! ).

I thought it might be the effects of a certain Girdle he'd been using, but that can't be, as he's (gained/lost) 22 hitpoints, and the effects of CON changes only occur in multiples of 9 (or 10, if you're a Rogue).
But wait a minute--TordenkalveN, you said "enter the game." Does this mean A) You Load a game that's already in progress, and you notice that you have 22 more/fewer hitpoints than you had before, or B) You start a brand-new game, making a Monk with the exact same stats, and you're seeing some variation in the starting HP? If it's the latter, then the answer lies in your Difficulty Settings. If you've got it set to Easy or Normal, then all of your characters will roll the maximum value for hitpoints on each Level Up. If you want your character to start the game with the max. hitpoints for his level, you need to set the Difficulty lower before you roll your character. If you answered A, though, then you've got some funky-ass bug.

I dont suppose you have Vapiric Touch as one of your Baal-Spawn abilities? That can add quite a few hitpoints.

TordenkalveN,
I just finished playing Icewind Dale 1 & 2 again and I had a similar problem in both of those games... If I was level drained or had any items that increased health then most of the time when I would load the game I would have full heath for a while and then the game would cathc up and take away that health lost from level drain and sometimes it would eventually add the proper amount of heath given by my items... so it could be the same type of thing here... |

Well thanks for all the replies. Actually I do have the vampiric touch ability. I dont hope this is the cause, would make me feel a little stupid . fortuneately it seems that another have had the same problem so I think I will stick to that explanation.
