My mouse is getting a bit worn out, was wondering what kinds of mice yall use and prefer? I'm thinking of buying several different types, so I can switch back and forth according to whatever it is I'm doing. Just went out and bought an optical mouse (no roller ball). Haven't tried it yet, am wondering if they work well and if it will be smoother perhaps? Man there are TONS of choices at CompUSA, I couldn't decide! I've never tried one of those either with the ball at the top, nor the ones with side buttons that supposedly can be used as "back" and "forward" buttons on the net? What do yall think? I definitely want to know which ones are shite so I know to not even bother.

Hi, LadyZ, I like your St. Pat's KungFuGal. Erm, my Cavalier says to tell her that the wind is catching her a bit, there. Oh, I forgot, I have an optical mouse, from Logitech, and I like it so much that one day I might even install it.

Get one with three buttons and a scroll wheel. From logitech, for preference. Wireless is nice in theory, but how often do you lose a remote? Really want to lose the mouse as well? Extra buttons are all very well, but I know that I always end up ignoring them. Who needs to be able to back up at a single click anyway?

I like conventional optomechanicals, but a lot of people prefer pure opticals. Truth be told, theres not a massive performance difference, pure optical has a slight latency with it and there a software problems with the original M$ ones. I dont think their worth the money.

AS for the rest, just make sure its got a decent weight on it, and that its comfortable to use.

The classic mouse with a scroll ball I find the best and most comfortable, but it's really up to you. My cousin has one without a ball on the bottom, so you don't have to clean it at all, and that's pretty good as well. But I don't like the wheelball ones, with the ball on top. I just can't get comfortable with those, plus the originals don't have a scrollball, which I find most irritating. Again, I think the classic with a scrollball is the best, but by all means, find the one you're most comfortable with.

Ack, see a few people not too happy with the Microsoft mice, which is what I actually got LOL. Microsoft (Optical) "Blue" (I guess cause the scroll wheel is, err... blue LOL). Didn't spend a lot of money on it though. I guess maybe the next one I buy will be a Logitech since so many seem to like that particular brand

I've got a MS optical mouse. Never had any trouble with it. I prefer the optical to ball mice cause you don't have to keep them clean. We used to have ball mice at school and they glued the back on so the kids wouldn't take them off and lose the balls. They got so dirty in there and you couldn't clean them, they barely rolled along

I love your St Patrick's KFG btw
