Argh! For months I thought I had a GeForce2MX! Now, it durns out I have a GTS!!! Crazy huh? Anyway, I thought I could only play the game in extremely low res. But now it turns out I actually meet the recommended specs. (PIII800, GeforceGTS) the only that isn't up to date is the RAM. Which is only 128MB. But depending on your advice, I might upgrade it to 256.
So, my question is, at what kind of preformance am I looking now and will upgrading my RAM make a big difference?

heya!

i think upgrading your ram will definitely be a good move. there's just SO much going on in this game that requres memory intensive functions.

overall, you will probly have a good looking game, that hitches/freezes every coupla minutes for 1-5 seconds. one of my machines is just above minimum specs and thats what it does. and from what i hear on all the forums, thats what most spec'ed low to low-mid systems do with the game.

you may experience the missing textures also, where the overlay just disappears and you clip thru to everything underneath. kinda odd to be walking on air and seeing tree roots and the underside of boulders. :

i'm sorry. i really wish i could tell you it would be perfect. but you should wait and see. for all we know, the problem isn't that rampant, and we just hear from peeps who DO have problems, while everyone else is playing fine.

Thanks. I can live with that(as an old 486 vet who still thinks Lands of Lore is the best RPG ever.
I guess I'm looking at 800*600 here right?

yes! but its not like you lose out on area seen or anything. 800x600 is still a good dislplay with lots of nice detail.

just remember, keep your output at 32bits, desktop and game, both. problems will arise if you don't!
