oh absolutely, since the Deva comes with the globes as well, you don't need to expend a spell slot either!

Like I said, I simply forgot about it, there was no other particular reason I didn't use it in this fight. Would've been nice, but not a world of difference.

Odd, I guess it might be part of the Improved Beholders, but I might be wrong.

Part ten is now available for reading. No pictures from this period I'm afraid. I promise a good one in the next part though
![]() With the Hive Mother dead and the whole Beholder Lair emptied, I had now collected two kinds of blood. That Kuo-Toa prince was still alive and breathing though, I would not have it so. Made my way through the Underdark to their cave without pause. Was greeted by two Kuo-Toa warriors with raised crossbows, my Deva gave them an equally warm meeting. Moving on, I found a circular room with a trio of Beholderkin inside. The Deva could probably have killed them by herself, but I helped out with a few Holy Smites regardless. Progressing further into the cave, I soon met a slightly bigger party of Kuo-Toa. The Deva had retired, but a trio of Aerial Servants throwing around knuckle punches this time served just as well. Moving up, I soon reached another circular room packed with Kuo-Toa. Activated HRDS and took the servants with me for the fight. Soon they were dead, and it was time to take on the prince himself. So I summoned my last deva, and together with me, HRDS-enhanced, and my three servants, even it's unholy regeneration rate couldn't save it for long. Dead he was, and another blood type was mine! There were other and stronger foes left in the cave, but for the moment I ignored them and returned to Ust Natha. The Matron Mother was probably a bit more pleased than she would admit, and thus it was that I was supposed to be in on the demon summoning cermony. Phaere had a word in private with me and wanted me to betray the Matron Mother. I'm gonna betray you both, hehe! So I said, "sure thing" and was on my way to the egg chamber to replace them with fakes, when I was confronted by Solaufein, who I had previously let live. His proposal was perfect, how could one in a better way screw over the entire drow society and get Adalon a proper revenge? So I broke into the egg chamber (you'd think the guards were half-dead or something, falling to a hit each) and summoned a Deva to help me out with the Golems. She took care of the clay ones while I did with the stone. Lets see, how was this supposed to work out? Phaere's eggs go in the chamber, Sola's go to Phaere, and the real ones go to me? Seems about right. It was time for the demon summoning. The lesser demon lord was not very pleased with either Phaere or the Matron Mother, though he had no beef with me. So the drow died and I walked out of there. Didn't know how long it would be before some drow guard came to look for the two, so I hurried out of there, stopping by the merchants to sell off some loot, and buy the Sentinel Shield. Returned the eggs to Adalon, who then teleported us to the Kuo-Toa cave and helped me (more accurate to say I helped her) to kill the defenders of the gate. The way to the surface was indeed clear, but I there was something left there in the depths of the cave. I went all the way to the SW section and found a door that probably hadn't been opened in a couple of millenia. What devilry could dwell behind them? I entered the chamber and saw a huge statue in the other end. The words "Animal sacrifice" were clear enough, so I summoned a skeleton to just that spot, but not before I had buffed up with various stuff like Prot from Fire and Prot from Evil, and summoned a few more skeletons and a deva as guards. The skeleton apparently fit the description of animal, and half a dozen Doom Knights suddenly appeared. The repeated Fireballs and various Symbols didn't do much harm to either me nor my minions. The Deva was taking care of her knight just fine, and with the support of my Energy blades, the three skeletons killed two other knights before the last went down. It was I and the Deva left against the two remaining knights. The Deva tanked, I threw more Energy Blades, and soon it was over. I finally left the Underdark three nice artefacts richer. Up on the surface I was captured by the elves and interrigated. It was however soon apparent to them that I was on their side and they let me go with the mission of finishing of Bodhi for good. Yeah sure, but first it was time for Firkraag. Having everything I needed, I went straight to the Windspear Hills. Returned the acorns, the services of which I had not used for quite some time, and then went to the dungeon. Didn't have much trouble with the first part, a couple of Holy Smites there, some Turn Undead there, and some Energy Blades for the Ruhk Transmuter. Once through the next door, two servants dealt with the orchs, one per side. Moving on, it was soon time for a fight with a golem trio. So I drank an Oil of Speed, activated Free Action, AoF, Aura of Flaming Death, and HRDS, and then it was time to roll. Saves and HP were decent enough this time around for the poison cloud not to be a nuisance, the Adamantite Golem hits hard and has a scary THAC0, but nothing that a few uses of the Resurrection rod couldn't handle. With buffs still active, I cleared the areas north and south of the corridor before I moved onwards, right into a little den filled with vampires, mummies and wraiths. Undead eh, say hello to a level 35 Cleric! Within 20 seconds, everything in that part of the dungeon had been popped in a very gory manner. Moved on and met Samia, agreed to help her. Activated Prot from Fire and HRDS and started a hunt for men in funny hats. A turn later, the mask was assembled and I went past the guardian and collected the stuff. Samia turned out to be a traitor and she and her followers were appropriately punished with a couple of Storms of Vengeance. With them dead, I headed back to the right track, and in a dark corridor I encountered a trio of Greater Wolfweres. Me, a Deva, and two Aerial Servants concentrating on one at a time proved to be too much for them though. I went on and ignored the northern path for now, and instead met a group of men with a wounded in the back of the room. How could I refuse to help them? They turned out to be wolfweres, but ended up just like their ilk in the other corridor. Explored a small cavern where a couple of servants were apparently having a disagreement with their captain, it ended with the captain's head rolling and the servants escaping. Me, I had discovered a hidden door in the cave wall and went in. Another golem trio! Retreated and rested, then used the exact same simple tactic I had used on every single golem trio so far. The treasure they guarded was sort of useless to me though. Moved back and continued on to Firkraag's own chamber. Tazok(!), and the last remaining members of the guard were still between me and him though. Holy Smites took them out. Now there was nothing left though, or so I thought. Firkraag set his pet mage against Garrens daughter and I was forced to kill him and then release the child before it really was time. Dispel Magic + Storm of Vengeance worked well on him. Firkraag then, he had warned me that he'd know if I tried any mischief, but I tried anyway. Called forth a Deva and four skeletons by the top of the staircase, and buffed up with everything I got. I marched with my backup to him and said it was just (not quite) between him and me now. Firkraag's first move was to release a Dragon breath, we all shrugged it off with ease. An unsuccessful Dispel Magic followed. That was the cue to conjure my Energy Blades and slash the living hell out of him with the discs. Both the Deva and one of the Skeletons managed to land the odd blow between their constant travels back and forth to Firkraag (wing buffet you know). And so, enhanced by Righteous Magic (it does not make the additional eletric damage do maximum damage), Firkraag actually died with the last blade I slung at him. So much for the mightiest dragon of SoA. The end is here, accounts of the Unseeing Eye and Kangaxx will probably come up tomorrow. [ 04-13-2005, 09:43 AM: Message edited by: Rataxes ]

Lol, I think he was referring to the last blade he had to throw, not the last one that hit Firagg. I get your witty joke though
