Ewww, Salvatore. I *really* don't see what's so special about his writing. The dialogue in his books makes me cringe regularly, mostly the stuff Drizzt says. It often seems Drizzt is closer to a walking, talking moral than he is a fullblooded character. YMMV.

The most positive thing I can say is that the books do an alright job of shaping the world of the Forgotten Realms. I've never understood why people rave about them, though. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

He keeps killing nice characters. Most of them get back to life, but Dorigen doesn't. I just HATE it. She was one of the best characters I have ever read of, and he KILLED her! Bastard.
On the other hand, he is the first author (and only one, for now) whose FR books I've read. And though his fight descriptions are not-too-clear for non-english speaker like me, I like his work.

And the Drizzt books sound quite good, I never read them, but they sound ok( repeating myself here ), and why does everyone hate him?
And is Salvator the dude who wrote it?
