I beat drizzt and it actually wasnt hard once i figured out what to do.
I got 3 monster summonings with Xzar and 4 with Edwin then i got 3 raise dead with brawnen. i cast 3 monster summonings then 1 raise dead this created a huge army which stopped drizzt from getting to me. hope for kaibolds for archers then i just started shooting him with a hail of arrows bullets and bolts. of course he tore through but i kept casting monster summoning and after a short while i was a proud owner of mitheral chain +4 and some awesome scimitars.

So my reputation went down so what, I'll donate and he was a drow anyway am i right?
SO GO KILL HIM

I don't think you've been introduced to the roleplaying aspect of this game yet, so let me clue you in:

Psst! Baldur's Gate is a roleplaying game!

Drizzt Do'Urden (however you spell that last name of his) is a renegade Drow, cut loose from the underground Elven culture. He's a hero, believe it or not, and has many an adventure in the Icewind Dale areas of Faerun.

I doubt Drizzt would have made a cameo appearance in this game had he known how the game's pitiful AI would make it easier for powergamers to nab his gear. Maybe if BioWare released a patch that enabled Drizzt to one-hit-kill PCs who attempted to make off with his armor and weaponry...heck, I can dream, can't I?

</font>[/QUOTE]All I can say is that Taran, boo hiss. You killing a famous hero, one that has helped keep evil hordes back, such as the Crenshinibon's mighty hordes (for IWD's that was a nice battle against Cibon) and defeated many villians, I boo.

aanndd?...

Flaming Fist Enforcer 02-23-2003 11:51 AM

Oh, Taran just tell them you didn't know he was a hero. And, I don't understand why all the effort - one monster summnoning wand was enough for my party.

Vedran 02-23-2003 12:23 PM

And if I am roleplaying an chaotic evil character, I'll kill good NPCs when nobody can see me.

Taran 02-23-2003 12:28 PM

You cant expect everyone to like Drizzt, can you? all it really takes is an evil character or even some level of neutral character to kill Drizzt and still roleplay perfectly well. If that certain player would not have read the novels, he might think drizzt to be very arrogant and stuff. He does speak sort of weird when he sees you, kinda like the PC would be some lower being or something. First time through BG1, i attacked him because of that very fact(i hadnt read the novels yet) and got my a** kicked all the way to Calimport! This time around i just killed him because i am a Neutral Evil character and i wanted to have his equipment. It cost me kagain, but hey, theres always other fighters(i cant reload. i mean, you dont see people in the real world re-loading after something goes wrong, do you?). too bad he totally blew up, upon resurection...
