The signs are very nice.

I was just thinking that I may need to redo my map - I want to add some warehouse space. In fact, I may need to start the map over. D'oh! If only we could cut and paste, or shift everything five spots to the right and five spots down.

Can you not easily add some squares? I f I remember right, all the features (walls, events, BGs) are kept as long as you do not decrease the level size.

You can add - to the right and bottom (East and South). Unfortunately, I built too close in to the upper left corner and those are the two directions that I want to expand in.

The process for this is a bit time consuming, but will be for the best in the long run. I am copying the text from all events into a text document, with each event labeled. It will be easy to cut and paste back into the new town. Plus, in the mean time, I can run the text file through a spellchecker.

But in DC, if you reach the northern edge of a level, your next step will take you to the lowest row in the South. Same with East and West. I admit that it feels a little strange, but you can easily put your additional squares for the top and the left in the southern and eastern parts of your level. I have done that several times.

Yes, you can do that, but I want the coordinates that show for the player not to reveal that....though since I'm 'centering' my town, I guess it wouldn't really matter. I'm still going to copy al of the events into a text file so I can spellcheck them.

Once again, entropy wins out.

Thanks for talking me into taking the easy path.

Well, I have to admit that I forgot about the coordinates. You have a point!
A yes, thanks for the phrase "talking s.o. into doing s.o.", I did not know that.

I have decided to follow your advice and just increase the size of the level and not do it over. (Well I have to do part of it over, but I hadn't added any events to that part yet. )

Edited to add:
At noon I changed my mind. I cleared the level and started over. (Don't worry I backed everything up in a different folder first.)
I still have 65 wall slots left to use and 87 backdrop slots. So, if you have a tall version of the pine trees that you want to upload, that would be great.

Getting back into the spirit of this thread, I needed a ladder for my design, so here is the overlay I started with. It's not the one I'm actually going to use in the design, it turns out, I had to add some tweaks to use it for my purposes, but it should be useful to folks.

It's the kind of ladder that is mounted to a wall.

Click on the image to see it full-sized.

Nice stuff, guys!

Interesting about the "hanging" sign that Dinonykos did - I did a sign like that (once), but I didn't have the bright idea to NOT center the sign, or it will look stupid (just a line from the side). Maybe if I ever do a sign again...

All these walls make me want to jump on the wall wagon again But walls take so much time (too many pixels), so I tend to stop before finishing one...

If you really wanted to get back on the wall wagon you could do overlays - they generally require a lot fewer pixels.

I also did a hanging sign, and I also centered it so that it was close to invisible straight-on.

I've almost got the new mod back to where it was before I started over.
