I want them to be proud of me. They have never, in my memory, ever said that, or told me good job.It stings a little to think that they could not be proud of me and my career choice.

When you start a post with "I hope no one here gets offended" you generally always find someone who will be offended.

DA: man, i bet they are proud of you. and if not, i doubt running off to war would change that. You seem like a good and honourable chap, from the little i know of you (others here might know the awful truth hehe). how about you try to live with honour rather than go off and die for it?

Cloudbringer: that knowledge is prohibited for me. i have been programmed NOT to learn anything that may result in more cleaning for me. Therefore, i was physically unable to read your post.

Ahh. Just about ot go home. had to come to work on a sunday. that blows.

later all!

impossible! if you know you are brainwashed, you are not brainwashed.

*slaps DA*

come back to the light!

nah, your path lin life is you own. If joining the military is what you wanna do, then go for it. but i would suggest looking around first - there are no doubt thousands of jobs out there you dont even know exist yet. No point getting yo ass shot off if it turns out you are destined to be the best shelf replenishment executive in history is it?

j/k, you could probably be a petroleum transfer officer.

Or a part of the Logistical division of the refuse collestion branch of your local council.

or a director of first impressions (receptionist)

or any one of many other career choices!

He's practicing ventiloquism? HI Wellard! I'd tell you to put some clothes on but it's pushing 110+ on our heat index even in the usually frozen north country here!

Captain O... LOL! So if I just point it out to your spouse, she can work on that whole brain spasm/cleaning info thing. I'm just an enabler.

Although, my husband is right on that 'can't learn a new cleaning thing today' bandwagon!

*crawls into the cafe... "I made it to here, finally!" he says*

Is it just me or are a lot of people having computer problems? Ziroc, Mozenwraith, and now me...

[rant on]

Saturday night I wanted to upload some pictures I made with my new digital camera. I turn on my computer and get the infamous “Blue Screen of Death”. Aaaarrrrrgghh! It was some sort of “Registry file error”.

I take my computer to a friend who knows a little bit more than me about these things than I do. He says we have to reinstall Windows. I guess you got to do what you got to do… An hour and a half later I take the computer home…

I try to go on the Internet but I can’t open any sites. I call the cable company’s Technical Support. After a few questions, we find that I am missing the drivers for the Ethernet adapter (and sound and a few other things). The techie cannot help me as it is a software issue not a hardware one.

I have to find the CD that came with the computer last year. I go through all the boxes in my apartment (I had moved in just last month). I find the drivers for the printer and wireless adapter but no motherboard CD. I call the company that I bought the computer from last year. “No, we don’t carry copies of those CDs” the guy says, “why don’t you just download the drivers from the manufacturer’s web page?” Errr…download the ethernet drivers so I can go on the Internet to download the ethernet drivers so I can go on the Internet…

At work I check the manufacturer’s website. The driver consists of half a dozen files ~ 300Kb in total and an installer ~ 7Mb – compressed – it takes upto 6 diskettes. At home I find the installer file had been corrupted when I tried to unzip it. It is unusable. I manually unzip the driver files to the C:/WINDOWS/system32/drivers folder. IT WORKS. *time to do a happydance*

I update my antivirus program and start downloading the files for EfU.

I guess I have to backup my critical files to a DVD before somethimg like this happens again.

[/rant off]

That was my week so far...how about you?
