Kung Fu seriously builds up your speed and hitting power. Quicker than karate strikes too. My absolute favourite was Aikido, however. When we did free-styling (in all my styles), Aikido mopped the floor with the others - Wing Chun? Thanks for the fist mate, over you go. Jun Fan? Thanks for the arm - I'll stun that, ta! The Bo Staff is obviously my weapon of choice but Kali builds up two-weapon co-ordination which is good (it's very easy to cross your weapons if untrained)

I liked Aikido too, but after I had trained Krav maga, I found it to be more useful and have better falling techniques, and even if it is a more "brutal" way to get out of trouble I have seen a girl that weighs as much as a feahter down a huge bloke after three moths of training...

Though I like the way you described Kung Fu.. maybe I give that a try!

I think the most effective style is the fuki-slam.

I've noticed that in many styles. I think it comes down to the person more than the size. A good centre of balance. Also served well when learning Horse Riding (I'd faced huge blokes in tournaments, so a horse was NOT scary). I find Aikido is good when I mix it with other moves. It makes me more unpredictable. These days I prefer to disable than hit anyway (my old Thug mentality replaced by a few meditative states of mind)

Snoekie is a Dutch word meaning: Pike. Actually the proper Dutch word is Snoek.
So Snoekie could be translated into Pikey or something like that.
In case you didnīt know, a pike is a predator fish that lives in freshwater lakes/streams and such

I choose that name when I first started using the internet and needed a nick for a chat program called Mirc. I tried using my real name but since that IS nick I got confused
And it wasnīt availeble like 99% of the time anyway, so I had to come up with a different one.
In those days I used to be an avid fisherman and my favorite fish to catch was a pike.
I saw them as the best freshwater hunters and found sport in "hunting the hunter". These days I donīt fish at all anymore because I did a 180 on the thought that fish donīt feel pain. I now think they do and I dont want to hurt anything just for my pleasure anymore.

On a sidenote, the guy who helped me get started on the internet and took lots of time explaining it all to a newbie, used the name Guppy (or Guppie in Dutch) which is a fish too. Ok, a little fish but still a fish....allright, VERY little fishys but still fish ok!!

I use this name just about everywhere on the net and only saw someone else use it once (yep, another Dutchie hehe). It feels like a part of me after all those years

Snoekie.

Hey! I just found out what sort of fish Snoek is!
We used to get it during and just after the WWII. My mom was very disparaging about when I was a kid, and it was often the only fish available. It did taste pretty nasty to people used to cod or hake!

Well my real name is David, the most common name in the world. I got tired of numbers and just threw some words together. There are some reasons for the words though. The words Red and Flare are the names of the two guardians in my story. Red is the shortened name of red dragon. And Flare is a phoniex. I just threw blue in there. It sounded cool!
