I really fell that this game could really use some freak NPCs, actual outcasts. Virconia is a good start, I really enjoyed the idea of the evil shapeshifter posted in this topic. I´d like that drow that gives you the second fake silverdragon egg in my party too. Malduf is too goodie to participate in the game as people have described i guess. Another thing I´d like was to see a useful familiar, maybe one who could take place of one NPC, owner of a decent grimoire and/or phisical capacity.

Yes, you could do that with the Helm of OA. The trigger you would use would be IF ~HasItemEquipped(ItemName,Myself)~ THEN BEGIN AlternateDialog 1. Get Weidu 2. Create a .d file with a text editor 3. Put the reference for the Helm into the "item name" slot 4. Create a series of states for the "AlternateDialog." 5. Use the extend/append functions of weidu to put the new banters into the appropriate .dlg file for the appropriate NPC. You would also want to setup the "alternate dialog" series of states so that the engine checks for the helm and sends the npc into that series first, so that the npc would not revert to original dialogs.

Hi all!!!
I'm in the (very) early stages of making a NPC(with romance). His name is 'Toulzouk'and he is a human spiritspear(new ranger kit) chaotic good. Str 19 dex 15 con 17 int 11 wis 14 cha 14 general attitude:he is a headstrong, brave and understanding person. And though he has a difficult childhood he requires no psycological help (contrary to the in-game romances) Story:He grew up in a tribe of one of the jungles south of amn called sariola. It was understood that he had a special bond with nature and he was chosen to become a spiritspear(a spiritual leader of the tribe). He completed all the tests and was soon a fully accomplished spiritspear. One day he left his tribe for a brief time and when he returned his tribe had been decimated. Amnish slavers had come and captured all his tribesmen. His quest for vengence led him to atkatla where he knows the slaver compound is. You find Toulzouk at the exit of atkatla

Cool. Thanks, Drewal. Nice to know that it can be done (Not that I'll actually be able to do it, but it's nice to give my brain the creative excercise). Man, what a job it'll be--writing alternate personas for each and every one of the NPCs who can wear helmets, including Jan's ToB dialogues. Not to mention that all the romance options can wear helmets.
I might have to break this into 2 MODs: the Opposite Alignment MOD, and the NPC MOD, which creates--wait for it--eighteen new recruitable NPCs (and most of them wear helmets, too), 5 more map areas (3 in SoA, 2 in ToB), and 2 major quests. And tons of items. Aaaaarghhh..... One of the hypothetical NPCs is a Lich. They're not Necromancers, because they cast Mirror Image. So what are Liches like?
