That I do, my friend, that I do.

And besides, if I was placed in a society like that, that certainly wouldn't happen. They wouldn't wait until the next day.
Why ? is it such a challenging and rocky environment you live in ? Or have the angry bearded men taken over your neighbourhood and placed you in a position that doesn't really suit you ?

So... basically what you're saying is that the Cleric has the defense of saying "I can do and say whatever I want, because look at what that other guy does! He's just as bad, so I'll use him as an excuse to spout whatever I damn well please, democratic pigs! Tr-la-la-la-la"? Hrm. Not highly intelligent, but hey, that's the world we live in I suppose.

I think you'll also find that the Pope's views are not as extreme as saying 'women deserve to be raped'. But then again, as a victim of the Church's discrimination myself, perhaps I'm not the best person to be asking seeing as I try to have as little do with any religion as I can.

If anything I think that the Church is moving forward to adapt to the world's views, not try to bring barbarism back into society.
I agree Dave with your latter statement. The church has been proactively trying to change with modern times. That cleric wants to bring us all back to the Dark Age. I think there should be limits to extreminism when it comes to speech. If we follow a extreme democracy, I would believe there would be chaos.

In another matter, I read this which actually concerned me. (points to Dave)

THE closure of customer toilets in a Myer store due to rampant homosexual activity has exposed a huge list of venues being used by members of a gay website as hook-up points.
Now what the heck is going on here?? Toilets?
Are you drunk? What are you babling about? You completely mistook what I was trying to say.

Let me explain, a month ago ( i think ). There was a post here that said the pope said bad things about islam. You go and check who and who didnt find that statement offensive via their post. After that you go back and check this thread or any thread about muslim or islam and see who cried foul!

Get my drift?

It gets worse! this from the leading muslim cleric in west Australia.

link
http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems...0/s1777679.htm

A Muslim leader in Western Australia has come under fire after saying there is some truth to comments made by Sydney cleric Sheikh Taj el-Din Al Hilaly about women and sexual assault.

women should take preventative measures to avoid being targeted. He says those measures include covering up and being accompanied when outdoors.

I agree with Dave the Quack. Though the Catholic (and Christian faith in general) has many serious faults even I will admit that it is dragging itself into the 19th centaury at least. Also the Christian church is seen and openly discusses such issues such as should women be ordained. While on the other hand we have Muslims leaders preaching that women deserve to be raped, and should not be free to walk the streets unaccompanied!!!!

And Kakero, the pope and his inference that the Muslim faith is one of violence (pot calling kettle IMO) there is no comparison to these disgusting preaching’s of Muslim leaders in Australia.
