"If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside... and the cats come and eat it... whose fault is it, the cats' or the uncovered meat?" he asked.
The uncovered meat is the problem, he went on to say.
"If she was in her room, in her home, in her hijab, no problem would have occurred," he added.

Australia's most senior Muslim cleric has prompted an uproar by saying that some women are attracting sexual assault by the way they dress.
Sheikh Taj el-Din al-Hilali said women who did not wear a hijab (head dress) were like "uncovered meat"
In a clear reference to the notorious Sydney gang rapists, Sheik Hilali said in the sermon: "It is she who takes off her clothes, shortens them, flirts, puts on make-up and powder and takes to the streets, God protect us, dallying.
"It's she who shortens, raises and lowers. Then it's a look, then a smile, then a conversation, a greeting, then a conversation, then a date, then a meeting, then a crime, then Long Bay Jail," he tells his worshippers with a chuckle.
"Then you get a judge, who has no mercy and he gives you 65 years.
"But when it comes to this disaster, who started it? In his literature, scholar al-Rafihi says: 'If I came across a rape crime - kidnap and violation of honour - I would discipline the man and order that the woman be arrested and jailed for life.' Why would you do this, Rafihi? He says because if she had not left the meat uncovered, the cat wouldn't have snatched it."

My question to the good people of Ironworks is this. What can be done when a man of authority holds these veiws?

Do any people out there agree that women should be more carefull in there dress and manner?

Wellard, it's just another idiotic Imam, like there's 13 of those in a dozen lately. The best way to deal with assholes like that, is to completely ignore everything they say, or at least don't make it public on a national basis. We here in the Netherlands have quite a few of those hardcore Imams, but it's our press that's making them famous AND heard by much more people than they should. Every little fragment of attention is one too many when it comes to situations like this. So Oz now has his own lunatic Imams eh ? Well, get used to it mate, they are here to stay. At least until the next Adolf stands up and turns the muslims into the jews of the 21st century. No doubt in my mind that's going to happen sooner than later, starting somewhere here in Europe.

On a sidenote....Islamic males dont have the slightest clue how to deal with women, be they smart, independant, sexy, or whatever. The only response they have to strong women is violence, which makes them pathetic little turds if i may be so bold.

While the idea of ignoring someone with those views is normally valid Johnny, this guy is no ordinary Imam this guy is the supposed leader of all Australian Muslims! Surely there are many out there who actually listen and respect what this freak says.

I wonder if our leader, Prime Minister John Howard, will have the balls to do something about him rather than say tut tut?

How many muslims are there in Oz anyway ?

Bungleau 10-26-2006 11:39 PM

If I were to debate him about this, my first question would be about his assumption that men are no smarter than cats, incapable of doing anything other than satisfying their natural urges.

Because if that's the case, he's just made it acceptible for any man to commit any crime and blame it on the victim, for simply providing the opportunity for the man to satisfy his natural urges, no matter how un-natural they may seem to the rest of us.

In fact, he's just said that women are *superior* to men... since women can apparently choose what to do, and men can only react without thinking. More's the pity...

Crackpot. Quackpot. Same cow pie, different side.

You don't debate with people like that, you either completely shut them out, or you shoot them.

Best I can find out Johnny is 1% (200,000) in 1996

There have been a few 'pack rapes' by young muslims in the last few years adding fuel to a fire that ignited last summer in some riots near Sydney beaches.

Had not thought of that but yep Bung you are right that is the implication.

Also .... "But when it comes to adultery, it's 90 per cent the women's responsibility"

Well though its tempting to shoot idiots maybe we should not reduce ourselves to their level. If this was the USA or the Netherlands would it be possible to arrest this man for 'incite to commit rape' or other crimes?
