You're right on the distances part, but ofc all those formulae should out globally. But unfortunately trying to apply quantum theory to relativity or the other way around results in contradictions. Many ppl try to unify those, but noone knows how to. Iirc the search is called "Theory of Everything" (but don't crucify me if that's something else, I'm just a mathematician )

Edit: Ok, Argonnes beat me. But I wasn't thinking of special, rather of general relativity. Wasn't that Superstring theory, and all those troubles? Or am I on the wrong track here?
GUT, Grand Unified Theory...it's all about some how bringing all the main known forces together; electromagnetic, nuclear weak, nuclear strong, and gravitational. So far, we've been able to tie the two nuclears together and have been able to get a little bit of a tie with the electromagnetic to the nuclears as well.

As to Superstring, I never went that far into Quantum. Mostly, the dealings I had were with nucleons (Proton, Neutron, Electron, and antimatter versions along with replacement particles like the Muon).

Well, I still think the bard is better than the gadgeteer.
