Send out invitations to an event of your chosing to be held at your own home, be it a festival, or a dinner, or a night of pin the tail on the ogre. But when you send out these invitations to the masses simply affix the acronym B.Y.O.B. to the bottom and you will see that not only will thongs show up but they, in the spirit of Being their Own Benefactor, will bring large amounts of festival supplies and refreshing beverages and libations. This proves that not only is the popularity of the B.Y.O.B. movement strong but that we are a happening group of cats.
The inverse is not true, were one to send invitations affixed with the acronym K.A.K. at the bottom. The use of THAT acronym is typically affiliated with derision, nepotism, despotism, riotous behavior, decadence, lawlessness, oppression, crushing the rights of others and overdue library books.

Just wondering if this is really what you meant:

do you think maybe you meant throngs? If not, then maybe there's a little darker side to B.Y.O.B. that many of you are telling us about.....

I would be disgusted with the words of my esteemed colleague Keraptisdm, if the above were not, in the main, true. That is why K.A.K. is so popular, and is indeed the mainstream geo-political movement within the Sword Coast area, whilst B.Y.O.B. tends to attract washed-out politicians, so called "adventurers" (most of which retired at level 2) and vagrants that wish to upset the present parliamentary position on reform through debate.

Shame on you Keraptisdm, your liberalism, is that of the libertine.

The long arm of the K.A.K. has extended its tentacles into the very heart of mercantilism itself. There I was, in the vast city of Athkatla in Amn, when I approached a merchant for the sole purpose of purchasing some goods. When I asked her about purchasing some of her wares, I was given this reply, and I quote: "But of course. You'll find that Mira is no kobold when it comes to quality and affordability." Being the man of integrity that I am, I normally would have no further dealings with such a shrew, but in the interest of keeping commerce alive and well, I allowed her to purchase some trinkets that I had aquired.
(In BG-SoA, I asked a merchant about her goods for sale, and she gave me the line I quoted above. I nearly fell out of my chair laughing so hard.)

I would like to pledge my support for the BYOB. If the kobolds were not risen in such a violent society then they would not be evil. Just because of the colour of their skin we discriminate them. A simple spell can stop them from been murderous (friends/charm person) for long enough to tame them.
