I have a question about Firefox: I can't seem to be able to view .pdf files in Firefox. All I get is a blank window that opens, and never loads the actual file. Is it something with my preferences or is it m computer (a good possibility as well!)

Thx!

I think a lot of people missed the smiley in my original post which was intended as a joke, hence the use of said smiley.

I do agree that IE has and (if rumours are to be held true) will pick up a lot of features from Firefox/Opera in order to gain back the market share they have lost in the past couple of years.

I find that for my needs, IE works fine. That may not be the case for everyone, and I respect the right for people to choose what they want to use. That doesn't mean that I'm not going to argue my point.

'nuff said.

This is probably a stupid question, but you do have Adobe Reader installed right?

He must do, otherwise FF would download the file as it would with any other file it didnt have a specific plugin for.

Link, make sure you're giving it time to download, the plugin will open the window before it has anything to display. It might also be an idea to update all the relevant software, newer .pdf files can fail to work in older versions of the software. Try saving the .pdf to disk and opening it normaly, that way you have all the data ready to go, and you dont waste bandwidth downloading the same file multiple times if you find you need to refer back to it.

In that case I must apologise Zebodog. I overlooked that smiley and reacted beyond reason. Others followed in my trail, but ultimately the blame is mine.

As for the original question: Sorry Xen, but that was what solved it for me. I suspect you have already made a Google search on the subject and turned up empty handed. So I will suggest you file a bug report. The developers cannot fix an error they don't know exists.

Andrewas: the bottom of the screen says that it's "Ready" (ergo: having loaded everything on the page) while the screen is blank. The method of downloading said .pdf file to my computer works of course, but I was just wondering if there wasn't an 'online' solution to my problem.
