Ideal solution would probably be a gadget that strips regeneration properties from items. Or a third party keeping track of how much damage is delt.
Removing armour or shields is probably best only done for combatants with similar characters since some characters rely on them more than others. Fighting with unenchanted (or with a fixed enchantment) weapons and armour is a possibility though.

The Whiff Whiff rule...We knew this would happen sometime in the tournament. I keep thinking of the comment Greything made about cannon fodder...I had thought we'd discussed a 10 minute time limit, one with most hp's wins. To be fair though, would need an impartial judge. I really don't think a coin toss would do it. I know I'd hate to lose that way, and sooner or later, I'd probably regret winning that way too. (maybe much later, but you know what I mean.)
Barring any of that, non magical versions of armor and weapons, and go to town.

Yeah I think we were at the 4 or 5 minute mark before Greythings connection broke and he disapeared.
I was still at 100% and I'm pretty sure he was as well. Milmar drak still has a few evil tricks up his sleave. He is more than he appears to be.

URGENT ALERT: I am going to have to withdraw Milmar and thus myself from the competition. Family problems mean I have to attend to them first over the next few days.
Greything enjoy the 2nd round! If everyone can please still PM me with details I still should be able to run the tournament with out competing. Updated Bracket below. NOTE: Gettin Whipped and Kadan still have to fight. If there is no fight by saturday then Kadan will go through to round two. Round two begins on Saturday. ![]() [ 07-14-2005, 06:07 AM: Message edited by: T-D-C ]

Thanks to a chance meeting in Durnan's Amana and Timur met to discuss their second round problem.
After an hour of hacking, slashing assorted spells and insults (I've never seen a taunt work before and when it does it works on me!) we agreed to differ. Basically we could hurt each other but there was no prospect of either of us getting a win this side of Christmas. Thanks for the fight Legolas, I really enjoyed it. And TDC, you'll have to get that coin out to see who goes forward from here. |

Likewise.
Other alternatives: - Have neither one go through - Have both go through (though their next opponent only needs to beat one of the two to win) - Have two other characters fight to determine which of the main characters goes on - Bribe TDC In the end though, the only conclusion you can draw is that both characters are as good as equals (or got lucky), so if one does go on to win there's no reason to assume the other couldn't have done the same. I don't consider stripping regeneration to be a fair way of disadvantaging all builds equally, by the way. |

OK how about this. Instead of luck determining who goes through how about your opponent in round 3 gets to decide who they want to fight ?
Or If I want to be really evil I could say that in Round three there could be a threeway fight between Amana, Timur and the winner of the Hindmost Marathon fight. I think option 1 is the fairest though. Unless you both want to choose a Champion character to fight ? Either of the above options are fine with me.

I know what to do, in the event of a draw, have a riddle competition. Chars can either do the classic competition, as in the Hobbit, or, they can use an impartial third party to ask them a riddle, first to solve it wins, or maybe two out of three.

Thats a good idea.
The other one that I was thinking of on the way to work was that we could have a time trial. Person that complets the Proving Grounds in the quickest time wins. We would also need an impartial timekeep keeping an eye on this
