Captive-Chapter 4: Danger Foreshadowed

Calaethis sat down at the waters edge and said softly "Alliene - the servents and slaves - do we have to destroy those as well? I am loath to take another elven life... especially if the poor soul has no choice BUT to serve." He paused "how soon until we strike? I'm getting edgy."

Dameon finds some water in which he washes his tunic. He is on the way back to the room where everyone was at. Intent on wringing out his tunic he turns a corner and he stumbles over someone leaning down on the ground and falls into a female drow knocking them both over. looking to see who he tripped over. "Dang it shadow couldn't you have picked a better spot to relax." Standing up he puts his hand out to help the female drow up. when he looks down he sees that it isn't an ordinary female drow but the matron mother himself. seeing her he bends he head to assume a lower statis. "Iam sorry um matron mother. I didn't see you there." dameon says. Trying to sound like cal did when he talked to her "Please forgive my clumsyness it was an accident."

Aeris was awed,impressed,and confused at Lady Verloren's horse.It was beautiful to Aeris.He had never seen such a magnificent animal. Aeris needed to stretch his limbs.Ever since they had got to this area all he had done was sit and lean against walls. He stood up and started stretching. He pulled out both of his longswords that had recently decided to name DarkThorn(OOC: The negative energy longsword) and Malar,after his brother.(OOC: The evil killing longsword.) He then started to perform basic attack moves against his imaginary target,making sure no one got in the way.

Calaethis politely waited for his cousin's reply, then excused himself, and went to his rooms - well, his cousin's rooms. Then he stripped to his undertunic, and lay down on the bed, pulling the covers over him. He didn't sleep, but just stared up at the celling, until Alliene found him. ~ If/when she enters the room, my char will say "May we talk cousin?" or words to that effect ~

***OOC - He then started to perform basic attack moves against his imaginary target,making sure no one got in the way. LOL, children are all the same. Swing at imaginary enemies [img]tongue.gif[/img] "ooc:Cal, 'whiny whingy crying children' lol, i think not" I think so LHELs - your char, not you - remember they ARE different.

And the sight i read it said any surving members of the house, but whether that implies noble members or any member it didn't say.

Alliene shrugged, causing the water around her to ripple,

"It is war Calaethis. We would not want a chance for them to rebuild their house, even if it did take them a millenia," as he excused himself she sat back in the pool with a sigh, and Verloren patted her sypmatheticly,

"He is young, sister. When he is as old as you and fought in many wars defending his land, he will understand,"

Alliene nodded and pulled herself out of the pool, drying herself quickly and tying her favorite black-but-hardly-opaque silk robe around her body, sat next to her cousin, "What is on your mind, cousin?"
In that time a gateway opened and Shevarash followed by a grumpy looking Zachana in her human form entered. Before Alliene could so much as open her mouth Zachana exploded,

"Do you know where I found him?" her knee length raven hair flared around her near-perfect form, "He was galavanting around with some she-wolf near a red dragon's den! A red!! I had to use this clumsy form to retrieve else the beast would have eaten us all!" like Avalon's silver eyes, hers were murky pools of pure black, and her skin was ivory colored. Her garb was an ornate black silk dress with gold embroidery and delicate little slippers.

Alliene laughed, "Well it is good he has a friend like you to protect him. Why don't you go down to the caves and keep Avalon company?"

Zachy scowled prettily and puffed her chest but curtsied and left with a quick, "As you wish, my lady"

Avalon was enjoying his sight of Wind Shadow and the children playing around the forge. It wasn't often they got to play with a friendly 7 foot (ooc-7 foot at the withers-shoulders for u horse illiterate people lol) war stallion. A swish of black silk flowed into the room and interrupted his thought. A strikingly beautiful dark-haired woman had just entered, and unless his nose decieved him, that was Zachana in human form. Quickly assuming his own, his plain tunic now A silver coat with red trim and matching breeches and boots, headed over to the angry looking woman. She relayed his story and he chuckled,

"I think he would not have eaten you straight away in that form, Zach"

She glowered at him. She was as equally as tall as him (6'1), something he was not used to seeing. Motioning for her to sit with him, she spread her skirts carefully and sat down with a sigh, those night colored orbs looking around and not taking anything in.

If the Matron's skin could have gotten any more black it would have,

"I think that is quite enough of you males wandering around by yourselves. Leave this area now and get back with the others," she stood and crossed her arms, waiting for them to leave.

"Whats wrong Alliene? Whats wrong is I know what we're going to have to do - we're going to have to raze a house - innocents and all - I know this is war - and I know its either them or us... but that doesn't make it right. But then... this isn't about moral issues. I don't want to become like them." he meant drow. "I don't want to turn into a monster - when all's said and done - and nothing you say will make a difference, blood is on our hands - and at the end of the day... we do what we have to - to survive. I must be strong, I will be, but I don't have to like it. I've killed before - to defend myself, and others, you included, as you've done the same for me... but... never murder. I know this isn't murder - but... Oh Alliene." He sat up and embrraced her. "Theres no other way is there?" he whispered into her hair already knowing the answer. After a few moments, he muttered "lets get this over with - when do we attack?" His voice was steel, and something inside of him died. Something young. It did not matter though. He was willing to kill - and to die for his cousin if need be.

**ooc, ok, that just about covers it I'm not gonna post anymore tonight. g'night all - dont attack without me heh. Btw, soz for that WOT reference about "steeling" himself. Couldnt resist.

After looking up and seeing a rather terrifying drow with a rather terrifying weapon Shadow decides to find Alliene and everyone else, all the while imagining all the valuable items to be looted from the first house.

He eventually finds them and admires the warhorse. "A fine beast, is it for sale?"

"As you comand" Dameon showing intelegence leaves the matrons sight. and goes to ask alliene if there is any place he can get some sleep.
OOC-Jenny i was thinking about the books by R.A. Salvatore about drizzit's childhood. If you want i will give it to john to give it to you this weekend.

Alliene spread her hands to her cousin,

"When you are a woman raised in the underdark, you learn fast what it means to be the dominant sex. Hundereds have died by my hands, including innocents who never did anything to deserve it. A mere 50 years I spent down here, before I decided to find my father, and the bandits who...caught me learned a lesson and soon many did after that. I may not like it, but the need to kill is in my blood, and it's strong; yet I am no monster, and you know it. You were not born into this society, and you do not have to like it, and I don't want you to. I hope you never have to come here again after this. Now, you get some sleep, and I'll join you once I find the others," as she stood, Verloren emerged from the bath wearing an identical not-quite-opaque blood red robe,

"I will stay with Avalon in his cave, sister, if we are to battle tomorrow," she linked arms with Alliene and the two turned to go, almost running into Dameon. Both stared up at him in annoyance,

"A place to sleep?" Alliene repeated, arching a silver eyebrow, "Well, the room next to mine is currently unoccupied, you may sleep there, if it pleases you," she held back a laugh as Verloren rolled her eyes and the duo started down the stairs. They reached Avalon's cave in time to hear Shadow's question, and Verloren smirked and folded ehr arms beneath her breasts,

"For sale? I don't think so. I didn't spend my life raising this equine just to give him away," Wind Shadow nodded his agreement. Verloren approached her horse and pulled each child down carefuly, "Time for bed, little ones, you have a big day of defending the house tomorrow!" once they were off she kissed her stallion's nose and headed over to Avalon, "I think tonight I will sleep in your human arms, if you don't mind,"

Avalon stared down at her and blinked a few times to keep his eyes from popping at her outfit, "Of course, my elvish delight," he glanced at Wind Shadow, "And the only stable for you, my friend," Wind Shadow nodded and nuzzled Verloren goodnight before prancing out, his golden tail held high.

Alliene approached Skye and Shadow, "There are rooms next to mine you may have for tonight. And be mindful not to take anything, I have anything of value rigged to detonate if lifted from its shelf," she shot a meaningful glance at Shadow and adjusted her robe self-conciously.

Alliene guided her group up the stairs, leaving Verloren and Avalon. She showed Skye where she and the children would stay; it convieniently was connected to Alliene's wash room, and the one next to it for Shadow. Once in her room, she disrobed and pulled a soft silk shift on before joining her sleeping cousin in her bed. She felt Zachana was on her way, and drifted to sleep, slowly memorizing the various spells she knew would be vital for tomorrow.
*OOC* We now take into consideration that all know Zachana's human form except Shadow and Dameon**
Zachana stared at her ivory skin curiously. Maybe it really wasn't that bad, though she had no idea how two-legs managed to keep themselves balance without any tail or extra legs. Why did she have to sleep with her lady? She cocked her head and pushed open the door were the elf-man, Shadow, was sleeping. Curious this one was indeed. All secrets and quiet and sneaky. Frowning to herself, she sat on the edge of his bed, and adjusted her black silk skirts, her black eyes wondering what he was about. She prodded him awake with a finger,

"You would not mind terribly if I joined you in your sleep? I need to clear my mind of things and this seemed the only place to do it," without waiting for an answer, she stood and easily unbottoned the back of her dress, letting it fall to the ground. She had never liked shifts, why wear one when you already had something covering you sufficiently. She tugged back his blankets and climed right in, snuggling close. Hmm, this was much better than sleeping on her lady's bed foot. She cracked an eye at him, "I hope I am not bothering you?"

ooc-now, don't freak everyone. I'm just trying an intersting little twist
I've always wanted to do this with Zachana, who is totally ignorant of human decency(obviously). Remember Shadow dearest, you don't know it's Zach, and no crazy guesses that it is

Shadow is a bit shocked to be awakon from a rather nice dream about all the looting that will soon be possable. He is about to say something about how rude it is to be woken from ones sleep when he sees that it a rather cute drow female.

Still half asleep, what she says is not really understood by Shadow, but he really wakes up when he sees her dress fall to the floor. He admires her finer features as she slides in beside him. "No I don't mind at all."

OOC - I swear, I will have revenge for this [img]tongue.gif[/img] , pick on the poor half-elf thief, typical.
