Yeah, I was just playing clearing the carnival area of a few kobolds when that came to me. I still remember last time I played with a Paladin, got my con high enough to have regen. didn't matter how bad my PC looked 8 hours had him back in peak condition.

Isn't 20 required for regeneration? Dwarf (19) + tome?

Not sure, how I managed that I know I started him with an 18. I got at least one extra point from a tome found. Was there a second one in BG2 if so that may have been where the regen kicked in.

The only legal ways for your PC to get regeneration in BG1 is to start with a Dwarf or a Half-Orc -- hence, not a Paladin.

Hmmm... wonder how I got it then, must have been when I was tinkering with CLUA or something.
Add: come to think of it that may have been the guy that I gave 19 con, basically made the most ideal Paladin with marginally superhuman constitution (due to his less than mundane origins I think was the reason) I believe str and dex as well as all his other stats were within human limits though they didn't fit within your typical mortal adventurer patern, that is, the dice roll didn't set the limit. I think I kept him marginally balanced though. Not sure it's been forever. Well that answers my other question, tested the "antidotes" from the nashkel mines and it indeed does reduce your con by one as well as poison you.
