If I have to have a funeral, I want it to be while I am alive so I can party with the people who will be happy I'm dead.

I am with John D Harris on this one...just dig a hole, throw me in it, and cover me with dirt...but...no coffin, no embalming fluid...like that could ever happen in this country LOL.
Knowing my cheap family, they'll cremate me.

I don't need any words spoken over me for people to have something to remember me by, I think my actions have been enough.

Grand_Ranger,
We have a family plot on private land in NC...ancestors back into the 1700's are buried there.

it's easy in our family

we hold no value to the body once the soul is gone. Some of us believe in the after life, others (including myself) in reincarnation, so why keep the old body? On top of this, we have the ultimate solution to premature burial:

we get cremated and our ashes scattered , AFTER useful organs have been taken to help hospitals

I'm an organ donor, so that's the first thing! I used to think I wanted to be cremated (takes up less space than a burial) but then I got to thinking that actually I would really like to be dug up in several thousand years time, studied extensively, and put on display in a museum, like Lindow Man, or Otzi the Iceman. So perhaps I should go for peat bog burial or just take off doing a bit of winter hiking...

I'm never going to die i'm immortal! Okay maybe not, but I would like to be cremated too. Dump me out over the ocean, i've always hated water.

I want a Christian burial.

I want two songs played. The first one - without a doubt - is Amazing Grace

The second one I haven't figured out yet. I would like something that isn't a hymn. Something from a contemporary artist (country or rock).

Something like The Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion or The Dance by Garth Brooks.

I'm open to suggestions.
