Then if you want to go back a few hundred years go with English. My dad has done alot of research with our family tree. And his side it is English.
Surprise surprise.

My uncle is like the 'official family tree creater' on my mom's side, and he's actually traced back a long way, 1500's I believe. But, according to him we have some distant relation the Queen of England. Yeah, I don't put much stock into it, especially since after that he claimed we were related to some other monarch, forget who. Charlegmane or something.

One of my great great etc grandparents on my mother's side was a convict sent to Australia for stealing something trifling. And I assume there is some european connection in there somewhere too with their last name of Petzler? Dunno anything about my father's side.

It's a small world !

Skippy1 (he pops in now and again) used to live about 1Km away from my old house, I'm sure we must have drunk in the same pub together many times. And another member (does not post no more) lives about 300m from my current house.

Edit 'cause I canna spell *sigh*

I have a bit of mixture in my family.
On my father's side we are English and German (we originated from the 'Pentecost' family in Germany).
On my mothers side we are Greek and Egyptian.
My father was born in Malaysia however (due to my grandfather being in the air force) and my mother was born in Egypt.

Well my coat of arms is a blue backround shield with 2 eagles and lions oppisite each other. We came from Scotland from the early 1100's.
