I say Tyson will own him.

He gets far more money from winning than losing, because of the bonuses.

Plus, if he wins, gives him the opportunity for a bigger fight, equalling more money.

True, Mcbride is HUGE compared to Tyson, but when you listen to other boxers talk about Tyson, they say he has the hardest punch in the boxing world. He only needs to land one and he's won.

Think about it, fair enough, a tall heavy person's punch will hurt, due to the leverage, therefore equalling high force. But, a short stocky person with all their strength concentrated will pack a better punch...just my opinion.

Tyson will win!

No, they don't. Tyson in his prime MAYBE, but now? A washed up Tyson who's last fight ended in a 3 round TKO?

Let's compare what PPV says about tyson:
» Explosive punching power- Maybe, but he's old, and it all goes downhill from 35.
» Excellent head movement- I'll give him that.
» Fast hands- Won't help against long reach.
» Crowd-pleasing style- Useless
» Intimidation- Mcbride has been... less then respectfull to him, he already thinks he's going for a KO.
» Conditioning- Again, he's to DAMN OLD.
Also, Tyson was given excellent odds on his last 2 fights. Guess how they ended. Anyway, the way I see Mcbride winning is via his reach, otherwise, Tyson will destroy him.

No, I admit he's not in his prime.

But, with age, you do not lose your strength so much..only your speed and your reactions.

I bet, when he trains properly, he can still hit as hard as 10 years ago.

Tyson to win!

Degrader - McBride lost to a guy who was on a 1-17 streak. He was that guy's only win! He is slow, and if you don't have a jab to work with, a long reach doesn't help, it hurts you. All Tyson would have to do is get inside the longer reach and McBride could no longer extend for full power.

Punching power is (almost) always the last thing a fighter loses. Tyson hasn't lost that yet. He is a young 39 by boxing standards - he spent what should have been grueling boxing years inside of a prison. Age is not a big factor for Tyson yet, it's his head. The guy has not wanted to be a fighter for some time, but puts on a good show to try to sell tickets. If he really prepares and wants to fight, he'll kill McBride. Personally, I think Tyson is cowardly now that his intimidation factor is gone. He could lose. I just don't think he will.

Oh yeah - Peter McNeely, who reminds many of McBride, was also disrepectful to Tyson in the prefight. Than lasted 89 seconds.

Buster Douglas was a special circumstance alltogether. If you look it up, he should have been a champ. He was whipping Tony Tucker (the last guy Tyson beat to unify the titles in his prime) for the IBF title, then quit. He was gutless. Then his mother died, some other stuff happened that I can't recall, and he dedicated the fight to getting past all that. And he always had a great jab, which is what he peppered Tyson with in order to land the big shots later on. McBride just doesn't seem to have that in his arsenal.

If you still believe that Boxing is a random outcome than I have some waterfront property in Manitoba I'd like to sell you...

It's all about the promoters and how much money they can make off of each fighter.

Can you say FIXED?

No, it's not fixed. It's just angled.

They promote and spin it to make money. The fight itself, will not be fixed. A fixed boxing match, is far too easy to tell.

Oh well, at least tonight should be a good show. I'm reminded of the great Ken Norton, the guy whom nobody thought had a chance in hell of beating Ali. While Mcbride is no Norton, he does have a good chance if he's learned to jab.

*points to last page....this has been mentioned twice already.

I think Tyson has this. He needs to have it, so he will.

In theory you had a 50% chance there Ross. Tyson did not NEED it, his managers did.

Tyson is now back in possesion of his well kicked arse (minus respect)
