Happy Thanksgiving to everyone . I've always thought it sounded like a lovely holiday - so little commercialisation and hype. Plus I read it provides the added bonus of delaying the christmas decorations in the shops until after it's celebrated - as much as I love christmas, having trees up and carols tootling in the shops in October makes me a little cynical

So how did everyone's Thanksgiving fare?
Mine was OK, but I'm a bit peeved at my mom LOL. She told me to be at my Aunt's house NO later than 1:00pm, said how my Aunt liked to eat early an all, and she doesn't like it when you show up late. Well, been at least 10 years since I was at my Aunt's house, and I had forgotten how long a trip it was, took frikken two hours! But still, even then, I made sure to leave early and was only 20 minutes late. So we walk into the door of my Aunt's house, and my Aunt and my mom are peeling potatoes in the kitchen. Hmmmm... My mom keeps wanting to shoo me into the living room, "your dad's in there and has a fire in the fireplace going!" (its 55 degrees F LOL). So I get herded into the living room and sit down, chat with my Dad for a bit. No TV in there, just couches and the fireplace. My mom eventually comes in and I ask her how long before we eat. She says, well your Aunt says not until 3:30pm. ![]() [ 11-27-2003, 10:46 PM: Message edited by: ladyzekke ] |
