I wonder what did Egypt intend...probably a midnight party.
We know that egypt intended to wage war on israel. It can be prooved, therefore Egypt must compensate.

In our lives the one that will win in a war or political conflict, will be the one that will impose the rules on the enemy, rather than one that acts upon the rules. For that reason USA will never win the war in iraq, untill it starts playing by her own rules. For that reason, the very second when some state violates the UN "law" regarding other state, the other state in order to win must also violate the "law". If it does not, it will lose.

Well, then you shouldn'ta signed the damned agreement to begin with. Nobody respects someone who can't even be trusted to keep their signed word of honor.

timber, what you are saying is that israel should have kept peace with egypt, even though egypt was declaring war. thats madness. you're saying that israel should have ceased to be a nation over a stupid treaty that was already made null. you aren't making sense on this one.

You can't make the treaty null. Again, check on it -- read up.

Moreover, you are missing my point. Under the UN Treaty, a nation is allowed to act in defense, even when that takes the form of an offensive attack. I applaud Israel's initiative in 1967 -- it took a lot of chutzpah, and it set the tone for one of the world's most badass armies.

However, upon defeating the army, Israel was not allowed to keep the land.

These are not contradictory notions -- you can win a war against an enemy without occupying their land.

The (unlawful) excuse to keep these lands was originally that they would be "buffer zones" -- well, when the "buffer" becomes the main source of your woes, it ain't a "buffer" anymore.

heh, agreed it has become a thorn in israels side. disagree, still, over whether or not the violation of the treaty alleviated israel of the restriction from legal conquest.

the question still remains... what about the fact that egypt doesnt want the gaza?

So when does Silesia and East Prussia get handed back? What about Ionia? What about Cyprus? or East Timor? or Tibet for that matter?
