Yes, there is something wrong with having a female lead character. why? I tend imagine that the lead character is me.So I have no problem with male lead character but with a female lead character? errr....* shudder at the thought *

also, IMO , lead chaarcter must be the strongest chaarcter thus I didn't like Zidane in ff9 because he is not the stongest.

It's too bad that you think something like that. I personally don't mind having a female lead character. I think that a fresh perspective is nice. Besides, they are not making the game just for you; women deserve their own lead character as well. Besides, there's always a male character to relate to as well.

Yes, I agree on this point, as long as you're referring to strength of personality and not in terms of playing power. Not all heroes are the strongest or the best at anything, nor should lead characters be any different.

And I've found Zidane to be an interesting character. Nothing wrong with him, in my opinion.

IMO there is nothing wrong with having a woman as the lead character. In FFX Yuna seems like the main character. You even get to control her at a certain point in the game.

Oh yeah I got FFVIII today. Going from FFX to FFVIII is weird! I didn't realise how powerful the PS2 is. The graphics are so much better in X! Not that Final Fantasy is about graphics or anything...I was just suprised.

I've started with FF7, 8, 9 , 10. I don't think I can go thru the earlier FF games. especially since I couldn't stand the awful graphic of earlier game.

hehe..female as leading character....* shudder *.

You realise you will have to get over that when FFX-2 comes out

If you're playing these games for the graphics, then you're playing the wrong genre. Besides, the graphics of the earlier games were quite good, although they're nothing compared to now. Still, if graphics were the driving force of these games, they'd be a lot less story and character development and more boringness to them.

graphic was not a problem for me before( I used to play NES emulator on my PC )
but ever since I've been spoiled by the beautiful graphic of Wizardry 8, I demand that every games graphic should be as beautiful as that.

sad no?

Hey LS I have a question about FFVIII.

What's up with the Gunblade? Can it fire or what? In the manual it says if you press R1 just before Squall strikes his attack becomes more powerful. Does this mean he fires it instead?

Did you find the Junction system confusing? I get it now but I still find it an odd concept. The Draw system is also weird. What's the point of drawing fire magic from a fire oppenent and then casting that fire?

Yeah, it fires if you press R1 at the right time. Once you get the timing down, it become second nature. He slashes and fires at the same time. You can do it with Seifer too, by the way.

The junction system is weird, and in my opinion, it really pushes you away from magic use. If you junction a magic to a stat, you'll end up decreasing that stat if you use the magic that's junctioned. I'm not much of a magic user anyway, so that didn't bother me as much as it would heavy magic users.

The draw system is diffently strange. That's probably why it hasn't made another appearance. The point is that you can build up your supplies of magic from one beast, even if you can't use that magic against it. Usually, each monster has one magic on it that's useful to you in that fight. Mainly, I just draw the strong magic from it so I have something good to junction. I use my GFs for magic use.
