It sounds like Square is going to release FF1 and FF2 (which had only been available in Japan). Look here for news: http://www.rpgamer.com/news/Q4-2002/112502b.html

This should be super cool!

Hmm... pretty cool. Since they are improving the really old FF's maybe our hopes of a sequel to Final Fantasy VII isn't such a dream after all.

Red, I doubt that they would do an actual sequel of any of the FFs. Just not Square's style; they like to make things new.

Larry, which one excited you more, the updated FF1 or the new (to Americans) FF2? I'm really excited about FF2, although I would relish a chance to play FF1 again with a mage of some kind this time. The first party I beat it with: 2 Fighters, a Thief, and a Blackbelt.

Ah I hate IGN! I went to an article about FFX-2 and there were heaps of pictures but they only allow you to view 2 or 3. After that you have to subscribe to IGNinsider and pay money! Bah..

FFVII-2 sounds very interesting..

I always felt that the no-sequel style of FFs was one of its greatest features as a series. Also, it just so happens that FF7 was my least favorite out of the FFs, so I will not be crushed when FF7-II is not made.

Also, I'm not liking what they're doing for FFX-2. Why would they change a character like that? It's just beyond me.

You must admit, Yuna looks better now ;) . A good change is that the main character (Yuna) has two guns instead of the usual sword which lead characters normally have.

Um, sorry, but I don't think that's exactly a good change. While it's nice that the main character isn't wielding a sword, I certainly don't want to be seeing guns in my Final Fantasy. Sorry, but that just totally ruins the atmosphere for me.
