Grinning, Skye tapped her cheek lightly in consideration. "Hmm, perhaps it would make it too lively for the people here to handle. Then again, maybe it'd be good for it." Giving Turgon a wicked smirk and wink, she walked up to the barkeeper. Putting her most genial smile on she asked him sweetly "Pardon me good sir, but would you mind terribly if a humble bard such as myself performed for a few coins from your patrons? I'm sure it would help business," she added with a smile. "I don't have my instrument on me, but I can sing well enough and such. If I cause too much of a racket, I'll go on my way." Leaning over she smiled again "Well, what do ya say?"

ooc: Skye, there's no guarantee with Pathris. You'll just have to hope for the best.

Darn, almost got a free level. Why could you guys wait a couple of more days?

Pathris let Moralae lead him through the town. He glanced into the windows of each building as they walked by, keeping an eye out for any valuables that might be, uh... easily acquired.

She finally made a stop by the town hall, easily recognizable because of its sign, which read, amazingly enough: "Town Hall." Pathris watches as his new companion deftly pulled out a crude piece of chalk and moved toward the sign. Pathris looked around to make sure that no one was coming, but he really didn't think that anyone would be walking by in this boring town. When he looked back, he saw that Moralae had make a change to the sign. It now read: "Town Hell."

Pathris couldn't agree more.

When he stopped laughing, they heard a dog bark. It was random thing, but it sent Moralae into an animated tizzy. He chuckled at her exaggerated movements, and when she finally jumped on his back, he took off in a random direction with a burst of speed.

After five steps, he stopped abruptly, spun around a couple of times, and took off in another direction. This time, he went about seven steps before stopping. "I don't know where I'm going," he stated before spinning around again.

Without waiting for a reply, he began to stagger wildly past the Town Hall again, walking as if he were really drunk. He swayed and swerved back and forth. "Maybe we should sing a song at the top of our lungs and wake everyone up as we leave," he suggested.

"And point me in the direction of that pond you keep mentioning," he added, looking up to Moralae and smiling deviously.

Skye & Turgon
(ooc: Sorry Skye, the bartender's not a pop-tart... In fact, this town has a particularly low concentration of pop-tarts...)

The bartender, a middle-aged, kind-eyed man with a pot belly and the smell of ale about him, smiled as Skye approached, listening intently to her request. "Well you go right on ahead, lass! And if ye'd like, I got a little lute ye can borrow back in the corner there." He pointed across the room to the wooden instrument, leaning decoratively against a wall with some cloak pegs.
Ryukari was exploring this new environment intently, straying from the watches of Turgon whenever he could. The first thing he just had to check out was the fireplace. The polymorphed dragon staggered up to it, peering into the flames with wide golden eyes. Grinning, he plopped down in front of the fire, experimentally tossing a thread from the throw rug into it, watching in awe as it burned.

Moralae

Moralae stuck her tongue out at your request. "Don't you get it? You're the steed. You can't make demands of me! Hmph!" She re-secured her grip around your neck, grumbling below her breath, "If I had one of those riding crops I might not get such smartass horses..." She mussed up your hair with one hand then pointed to the Eastern edge of town. "The pond's that way, valiant steed." As you began moving she started whistling various bird calls, blowing air on the back of your neck in an attempt to make you shiver.
You make it to the pond a few minutes later, just off the outskirts of town. It's actually not the mosquito ridden bog one would expect such a nut case as Moralae to swim around in either. Quite clear, but not perfect enough to be included in Pnay, because it had such unsightly things as a slight overgrowth of lily pads, bushy cattails, and some nasty wild beasts: like fish. The moon reflecting off its surface was quite pretty though, and Moralae slipped off your back to look at it a moment, smiling softly to herself. She then muttered, "Isn't it just the most beautiful thing?"

Pathris laughed at Moralae's comments and began striding in the direction she had pointed, toward the eastern edge of town. He took his time walking, stopping every few moments to twirl around, just because he felt like it.

Moralae began whistling bird calls, using the chance to blow air down his neck as he walked. He swayed to the side every so often in an attempt to staunch the flow of air on his neck. She was making it a little difficult for him to concentrate on walking. He was rather unused to the attention; people tended to avoid Pathris like the plague.

They reached the pond very quickly, even at Pathris' slow pace. It was actually pretty nice as far as ponds went, but it was not the perfection one would expect from a pond near Pnay. It was far more interesting, with a nice selection of lily pads and cattails. The water was clear though, and the reflection of the clear night sky was wonderous.

Moralae finally slipped off his back to gaze at the water. Pathris was surprised to feel some disappointment as she left; he had started to grow fond of the body contact. He stood next to the Elf woman, looking up the sky then peering into the reflection on the water. He glanced at the smiling Moralae and began to grin too. "Yes, it is a very lovely sight," he replied softly, looking into the water. "It's not often that I get the chance to surround myself with such beauty." He looked up to the sky and mouthed a silent "thank you" in Elvish.

(ooc: *Holds back Moralae and her chaotic tendencies by the wrists.* Thisisnotaskinnydippingthread, thisisnotaskinnydipp ingthread, thisisnotaskinnydippingthread!! *Tackles Moralae, but she squirms out.* Noooo!! *Lunges for her knees and knocks her over.* Don't do it!!! Er... The fish will eat you!! *Moralae's gets up, her eyes wide, and starts taking slow steps away.* Pheww... *Moralae turns around and charges for the pond.* NOOOOOO!!! *Casts a successful disintigrate spell.* Oh boy... Pathris isn't gonna be happy with that...

NOTE: That poem below... The elvish version has a few words different, because I couldn't translate them properly. But it's the same meaning, so nyah! Now suffer and read my wretched poetry!)

Moralae

Moralae approached the pond and crouched down beside it, rubbing her hands in the cool clean water. She looked up at the white moon and such a gleam came to her eye that it seemed she had forgotten there was anything in the world but her and it. You saw her jaw clench tight as she lowered herself fully into a seat in the thick grass. Her amethyst eyes were completely lost to the celestial body above. Maybe it was the heritage that gave her those eyes. Or maybe it was something more...

She began to sing in a small, trembling voice, nearly inaudible when taken by the winds.
"E' i' coiasirar en' amin lisse' meiva,
In the hours of my sweet element,
Amin linga amin dol,

I hang my head,
Ar' amin nainia.

And I lament.
Ten' amin cael n'at estela,

For I have no other vent,
Nan' i' ithil,

But the moon,
Ar' i' elenea.

And the stars.
Ron tatya amin lina e' kaima,

They serenade my song in sleep,
Yassen elean en' ron luss'noa,
With visions of their cryptic creed,
Ar' amin pant amin eleer,

And I shall wake,
Ar' amin ni,

And I shall weep,
Vee amin mel,

As I shall love,
Ar' amin on agar.

And I shall bleed."

Her gaze then lowered mechanically from the moon to the ground, a lost, melancholy expression on her face.

ooc: *holds an angry Pathris back* No, no, you don't want to anything hasty. Yes, I know she's a mean girl, but we just have to put up with it. I'm doing a fair job of it, why can't you, Pathris? *Pathris struggles* Hmm... you do have a point. *lets him go* You deal with him, Spree!

Pathris watched as Moralae crouched beside the pond, looking up at the moon before finally settling down to sit. Then she began to sing, the words barely audible to Pathris. It seemed to be a song similar to the rhyme that Pathris had uttered before entering the city. Moralae's was on the sadder side, a lament to the jewels of the sky however, but all the same he could relate to it.

Pathris laid on his back next to Moralae, peering up into the vastness of the sky above. He picked out the constellations he knew and named the stars he recognized, softly reminding himself of the knowledge he had learned from his mother on nights such as this one. Suddenly, he laughed. "I wanted to be an astronomer when I was a young boy. The countless stars shining on this great panorama was my joy, and my mother would often regale me with the tales that accompanied each. A knowledgable woman, my mother was. She always seemed to know about everything..." He sighed as he realized that he was babbling again, then closed his eyes, recalling the mental image he kept of his mother.

ooc: Hey Spree, after I subjected all of you to Pathris' horrible poetry, it's only fair that you have a chance as well!

(ooc: There should be some kind of clinic for us lousy poets...)

Moralae

Moralae snapped from her transfiction as if a chord was cut, looking to you with a wide, dazed expression. She then smiled softly as you relinquished more of your treasured tales. She whispered, "That sounds wonderful..."
Moralae then sprawled out next to you, watching the stars yet avoiding the glowing moon. She then began to recount her own past. "I was never truly... Connected with my mother. She always seemed so meek and in line... So utterly..." She grimaced a moment, searching for a good adjective. "Predictable." Her eyes swept soothingly across the sky as she continued to speak.
"I never really knew my father though, since I was so young when he died... Come to think of it, I never really knew anybody in my family, apart from Atria. But she left the day of dad's funeral, and... Well, cutting the melodramatic details... I guess I've just been alone in this wretched world ever since."
She looked over at you and grinned. "Hm, looks like you're picking up value, Pathris ol' pal."

ooc: I thought this was the clinic?

Hey, why don't we subject CD and Nano to our wretched poetry as well?

Pathris opened his eyes and looked at Moralae as she recounted some of her own past. He couldn't help but nod as she talked, understanding the loneliness. Yes, they were more alike than he had thought.

"I guess I was better off than you. I knew my parents, at least. I have memories of each." Pathris smiled again. "Different, yet alike."

He looked up at the sky again. "And here we are again. Didn't we agree to have fun instead of reminiscing?" He got up and walked to the pond, quickly dipping his hands in the cool water. When he turned back around, he began to flick water at Moralae before dashing off before she could retaliate.

(ooc: This is NOT a clinic!!...
It's a sanctuary for the poetically unstable...
And that's a fine idea, my friend. Spread the love! And er... Anguished moans... )

Moralae

Moralae sat in the same position for a long moment after you dashed off, a stunned expression across her face. After a moment she looked down at her clothes, rubbing her hands over her tunic with a lopsided grimace. She innocently exclaimed, "Oh rats, that wasn't nice at all..." She then looked back at you and pouted, her eyes widening and blinking at an alarmingly pitiful frequency.
Her gaze then tracked a firefly for a minute, her head swerving and circling around to keep up with the insect. Attention span? Ehm, no...
The bug landed on her shirt and she seemed quite fascinated, until it flitted off from her view. She then groaned and pushed herself up to her feet, staggering over to you.
She crossed her arms over her chest, raised an eyebrow and said, "Now what in all the planes are we supposed to do for fun around here, anyway?" She shrugged once and grumbled, "It's a pity I was just bluffing before..." A mocking grin spread across her face that nonverbally screamed: "Haha, you believed me 'cuz I'm cute!"

ooc: Ah, it's a sanctuary. My mistake. Either way, it's good for us and bad for others.

I'm thinking of starting my first post in CD and Nano's RP with a poem, or having some poetry in it, just to show people what they're getting into. What do you think? Is that too mean?

Pathris dashed off a short ways, but was only mildly disappointed when Moralae didn't chase. A silly creature that girl was. Yet he found himself going back to her.

She looked at him and smiled mockingly. So it had been a bluff, eh? "Oh, so you were the one that wanted to hold hands and watch the stars. I see your game now, missy," he said, teasing her a little.

He turned and moved toward a tree nearby and with a quick spring, caught the lowest hanging limb and swung himself up. He crawled out until he was laying above Moralae and looked down at her. "Well, my dear, the night is still young. We can be both merry and sad yet, and tell the tales that we wish. Maybe it will lighten the burdens we carry. But first... let's smile for a little while. It's a beautiful night, after all. How can we be depressed?"
