Then use Shadowkeeper, unless you want your rep to drop to 10....

On the buried alive quest you get in the graveyard, if you held the woman hostage and collect the ransom yourself, your rep should drop by a couple (if my memory is correct).

Yeah, unfortunately, it is either a BIG drop (if you kill innocent while rep is 20, it goes right down to 10), or NPCs start leaving......well, life is not perfect...

I believe that getting caught stealing will lower your rep a point or two, as in BGI. You just have to run away fast, and not get caught by any guards. So steal next to an area edge?

To your original question:
If you have Minsc and want to keep him in your party, don't take Edwin. They'll bicker and fight until Edwin (unwisely) taunts the Rashemite to pound him into a bloody red pulp.

There is a MUCH easier way to lose 2 rep points.

Recruit Viconia to your party - you will straight away lose 2 rep because she is a Drow. You can then drop her straight away, tell her to meet you in the graveyard if you need her, then you can go back and do this as many times as your rep gets too high. No risk solution.
