HUGE SPOILER ABOUT KILLING MR. D. WITH 'CHEESE'

The main reason for disturbing and killing Mr. D. is to make his troops kill Oublek (the fat guy, that holds a lot of Gold (and mybe some valuable stones too)). When the Phoenix guards starts to spam fire balls, then walk down to Oeblek, so he is getting hit. If you are tired of the guards, you could stroll a little up and down the street to get rid of them too.

The easiest way to survive this battle (and come out as the winner) is to have your best warrior wearing the helm of defense and a ring of fire protection (alternatively put a spell of protection from fire on him, either by scroll or by spell). Hide the rest of your party inside a building and make your fire protected warrior tease Mr. D. by reading the text of his grave stone 2 (or is it 3) times. Protected as you are, your warrior will actually heal from the fire balls

Too cheeasy? - I warned you, didn't I?

I do have TotSC and am not sure when that aspect of the game kicks in, but each little map on the big map doesn't seem to have nearly as much as those in BGII. Am I wrong?
there is one other thing nobody has mentioned. Uncovering most of the maps is relatively quick and easy to do. It gets long after you do that. The game is called Balder's Gate... are you there yet ? have you done Durlags Tower? Where are you up to in the main quest?, because a LOT of the game is packed into only a FEW of the maps
