My preference for ranking scores has been to post only the rank because it makes it less competetive: Instead of people looking over the results and saying, "Oh, MAN! Cletus beat me by twenty-seven points!" simply posting the character names deflects the issue of "superiority" onto the characters themselves: "Dang. Cletus got a Sendai, and I'm a Sarevok. But that's OK, 'cause I know Sarevok can paste Sendai any day." Since this is, after all, purely in good fun, this is just a little psychological measure to encourage it to stay that way. (Opposite extreme: Calling up your bookie to place twenty against fourteen that Jethro beats Cletus by a twelve-point spread before the end of the 2nd day.)

But if someone wants to know their exact score, by all means let them know. One thing that I did in the scoring for the previous Quizzes is that if 2 or more people scored within the same rank, I placed the higher-scoring ones lower on the list (with lower = better), so that if you read all the names from top to bottom, you'd get everybody in the correct order, from lowest score to highest score. And, happily, I always had a Chinchilla to include in the rankings.

Have you been maintaining that little detail, pcgiant? I'll post the current scores on the website in a few minutes.

Yeah....I had a funny feeling that one of the co-creators of the Spell Refererence was going to have a fairly easy time in Section Two, hence the use of so many spells that you definitely won't find on the Solo Sorcerer Spell List. But they weren't all obscure: Spider Spawn and Greater Restoration, for example, are pretty damn good.

What do you all mean that the last screenshot is difficult? Jeez, don't you people know the roof of the de'Arnise Keep when you see it? Honestly!

) So it's been used in a MOD, huh? Dang. Well, at least that MOD apparently doesn't tell you where in the game the map is actually supposed to be, so it's all well and good.

An all-new Quiz every MONTH??? Come on! Even without this "life" that I'm supposed to have, I still have MOD work to do! Sheesh! [img]tongue.gif[/img]

And only *ONE* person has attempted to call the roll of the Chinchilla's noble compatriots? Weird--I thought all the Chickens were in the Umar Hills! (On second thought, I guess I shouldn't have written that question's point value in red, since the question IS extra-credit, after all. What do you think, pcgiant--should I go change it to black, and if any of the testers wants to re-send their answer for that one question, should we let them?)

Yes, I think so. Also, change question number 27 so that it is labelled 27 and not 37 [img]tongue.gif[/img] You have no idea how many people have pointed that out

I don't really care about my exact score--I just want to know what I botched. (Them red zingers come to mind...) The answers are gonna get posted, I know. I have a good idea of what I missed. Can I just get the question numbers or something?

I got Sarevok, could've done better I guess. I never would've known there was a bad guy in the game named Pooky?

Questions 26, 37 [sic] and 31 have been de-redded. Pcgiant, can you go over the submissions already sent in, and "un-ding" any points that were dinged in these 3 questions? Also, those who wish to re-sumbit their answers on these questions may do so.

(If we'd postponed the Quiz for another day, we'd probably have caught this before it became an issue. Phooey.)
