I am pretty sure that WIS does affect one's saving throws versus Charm, Stun, Hold, and Confusion. Characters with high WIS tend to fare better than those who do not.

Of course, characters with higher wisdom scores tend to be paladins and clerics, who have higher saving throws anyway...

BTW, I so call the name Quibby...I'm gonna rename my ranged-king fighter/thief tonight.

I am using a paladin kit, Undead Hunter mainly because of the immunity to level-drain effects. I find level drain to be very annoying and I think as my first time through the game I just want to enjoy it.

So far he has been all he as been a major asset when fighting undead that do the level drain thing. My palidin is the only one that goes into battle to fight them all off, if he gets overrun I use undead to even the odds. Often using a priest to move up and use undead is helpful as well so he can continue to hack away. I have been playing so level drain has not even been an issue for me.

Hmmm, it states it in the back of the manual, under the ability point tables as "Magic Defence Adjustment", refering to the mental saving throws.....It seems a little shabby for them to refer to something in the manual that was never implemented in the game!

I might test it later, creating a char with a wis of 3 and a char with a wis of 18, and see if the saving throw required is higher for the wis 3 char...

You mean like the Bard's ability to Climb Walls, Read Languages and Detect Noise?

Just chalk it up on the LONG list of things that BioWare didn't finish in BG2.

Exactly.

If you want to see how... inaccurate (and i'm being merciful here!) the manual is, take a brief look over the BG2 Spell Reference.

All the red text you see is Manual corrections (and in rare occasions, some clarifications).
