Ok, cool. Anybody know how changing classes works? I'm having trouble getting it to work?

It works automatically. I realized that it works even when you do not use the normal races: I changed humans into martens for my adventure and was quite surprised when I tested my design and suddenly a marten was able to change classes because he had proper stats (I assume) .
It seems that the first race in the races.dat file is always able to change classes. The second race (Elves normally) cannot be ressurected (I used this race for cyborgs/robots ). It would be great if races would be less hard-coded and more editable, but I assume that the first priority is that DC works like UA. Well, I can wait... and improvise.

You other guys may correct me if I am wrong, I am not so much into the ADD rules and UA.

You are discovering all of our secrets, Dinonykos.
I also wish that the races weren't hardcoded. I think that if I hadn't pestered CocoaSpud so much, they wouldn't be changeable at all at this point, as he had planned even changing of names for after version 1.0.

Hmm - that's interesting. Wonder if elves are also immune to paralyzation and such?

I'm not sure, but if they are, any race that is listed in the second spot would be as well (if the abilities are hard-coded, that is).

Well, CocoaSpud certainly had the aim to do an improved UA, not an allround-rpg-maker. Therefore I should be thankful (to him and obviously also to you, Manikus ) that classes' and races' names are changeable. If they weren't, I would probably never have turned to DC (and thus never found out how nice this editor already is, even though it is not DC 1.0).

I think a lot of us that are on the forums have played FRUA or the Gold Box games, so we can appreciate what CocoaSpud started. His goal was to remake FRUA and then eventually allow for everything to be changed, sometime after version 1.0.
Every time I think we have a long way to go, I just look at what DC does compared to FRUA - we're pretty close. The main things left to do are special abilities and combat AI, and of course, bug fixes.
It's just too bad that we didn't reach 1.0 before CocoaSpud left the project. (I keep hoping that one day he will check in to see how we're doing and catch the fever again...)

Hmm... Any idea what he is up to these days?

Maybe if someone makes a fun game out of what we have already... And gets him addicted...

But yeah, combat AI is pretty high on the list of stuff to get done (monsters casting spells,etc.).
