Just because he's an arms warrior, doesn't mean he can't tank

I thought Arms warriors were pretty good. My 28 alt is an arms warrior. I didn't want to go Fury as apparently that's gimped in pvp.

Wait until your little warrior gets Mortal Strike, basic tactics being spamming MS until the thing is dead. Occasional shout of some kind. Very boring, but effective (unless things have changed at 70? I can only comment up to 63, and even naked I could kill equal level stuff).
And while I'm at it... Quote:

No, just no. No matter what people say, armmaster warrior cannot tank and hold agro as good as a prot spec warrior. Characters like mine even with salvation is gonna steal agro like crazy.
If you want to tank and hold agro well, spec protection. |

I specced prot for a bit -- was a shitty tanker
![]() A druid pulled agro off me too easily, even after 5 sunders, shield block revenge spams, devastation etc.. So i thought meh screw it and went back to arms. Fixed my warriors spec, it phailed before. Little bit better now.

I'm pretty sure if the person tanking knows what he is doing, and those DPSing know what they are doing, a tank should not lose aggro. Protection spec helps, I'll agree, and protection spec would be ideal for tanking, but saying by speccing one way you CAN'T tank, sounds silly IMO.

End-game you gotta be specced properly but beforehand (roughly before 50) you can pull it off okay. Same with healing. My shadow priest healed grps just fine on the way up...once you're not an idiot and understand you are lacking holy talents then it is possible. But if a shadow priest wanted to MH a kara run or even a regular outland instance for example, they'd be laughed out.

Oh I agree, if people are doing 10-man raid instances you ideally want a prot warrior as your tank. If not skill wise, but +% to armor, defence, etc. are very helpful, but I think that an arms warrior is a better tank than a shadow priest is a healer (if that makes any sense).
Although we did do a run of that first BC instance, me half naked with a 2h axe, a shadow priest, a rogue, a hunter and a feral druid. I was tanking, but the rate that the shadow priest healed me due to her shadow damage was amazing.

I've had a spriest main heal Shadow Labs. Of course, I tend to make SL a bit easier since I'm perfectly happy to cc 3 mobs at a time in there.
I spec my druid mostly feral for tanking. He can't tank if I don't spec for it. However, I main heal instances just fine with him and he's only got 14 points in resto. Off-spec healing is easier than off-spec tanking. It's not just about aggro, a tank has to NOT DIE. So even if a dps warrior can grab and hold aggro, he's missing some aspects required for staying alive. |
