Why not buy some potions? They last for a reasonable amount of time and you don't need them that often. As an aalternative, stock up on Protection from Undead scrolls. In addition, IIRC you can "stealth" past a lot of things.

Ahh, those Bone Golems are the most beatiful creatures in the game. They trully have the sense of horror surrounding them!

And what is so nasty about Greater Mummies, Dundee? My own army of Mordakainen's Swords didnt find them very tough to kill

A lich, along with some Skeleton Warriors and, probably, 1-2 Greater Mummies were killed by me at the entrance of the room with letter tiles. I was mid-level then. Probably lich spawning depends on the level of player. Although, my 14-lvl berserker also met that lich...

I never really used that spell, Mordenkainen's Sword. But since everyone here is talking about, I may start using it soon. What level is the spell again?

I'll just check my manual... Mordenkainen's Sword is a level 7 spell hope that helps.

Veery useful summon. The point is that the sword is immune to nearly all mind-altering/controlling attacks! Even Mind Flayers suck to drain INT from it - it has no brains to devour And it is immune to all weapons of +2 or lower enchantment, if I am not mistaken. As I have said in an another thread, 3 of them, protected with scrolls, killed Kangaxx in his Demi-Lich form quite easy

Due to the Sola Mod, trying to fight them with a level 10-11 party on Insane Difficulty is well... INSANE. My solo level 18 Cavalier had a hairy time with them too( resorted to Protection from Undead scolls in the end, since they were killing my Cavalier in 2 hits).

the daystar long sword is also very useful for clearing this area (what could be more effective against shadows than sunlight), other than that prot from undead would protect you from needing the free action, I'm not sure where the ring is... tho
