Nm, it was the monitor you had trouble with. Maybe your mobo is the issue if these two are related...

I had problems with the (USB)mouse too, but that didn't happen in the new windows.

I'd check inside the thing and look at the mobo and ports. There's a slim chance it could be a power issue depending on if you added some kind of power-hog recently and maybe your hardware can't run it but then mice and keyboards etc. don't consume or demand that much...
Have you updated all your firmware etc. since the new installation? The OS will indeed detect new devices but sometimes without updates it can act odd.
