I like the whole, beginning thing. It's cool to see those phasers(if you can call them that) from the beginning. And the technology they do not yet have, and knowing where they will end up.

The whole "don't ask" thing (actually "we don't talk about it") was pretty much an inside joke to the fans (but a bit of a cop-out).
I know that the novels can't be taken as cannon, which is too bad, because a few of them were quite good. Ah, well.

And another hole in the plot - Sentient Holograms are state-of-the-art in the Voyager Era. Explain to me how an engineer on a crashed freighter could create them in the NX-1 era?

Childhood at my father's house was microwave chicken and Star Trek. I was a fan of the Picard era, but I haven't had any interest in any of the newer ones...I guess you just get used to certain characters... I loved Odo. [img]smile.gif[/img]
