Try joining a club and playing in the ladder room on the Zone. The World at War room is fun, but you encounter lots of quitters. Nothing worse than playing for a couple of hours and then your opponent disappears when things are going so good.

If you go into the ladder room and ask, they'll tell you about the different clubs represented and they're all free and easy to sign up with. Another thing is there message forum are filled with great strategys.

It's fun to have your win/loss ratio recorded and to gain ranks for wins and total number of games played.

Chess is key, definitely the most classic boardgame ever. monopoly rules too...trivial pursuit can be fun but it seems like i never really know about 80% of the answers and just need to sit there looking like i'm pondering until i blurt out "i have NO idea".

Jenga is badass too...(if you'd consider it a "boardgame", i guess)

I know it's a little ,but there are many people here who like to play chess, myself included.Who wants to play chess online?
I'd like that, there are many sites where you can play.So if anyone has any suggestions, let's hear it.I'll always accept if someone wants to play chess against me.

I would love to play chess online, but I wouldn't be much of an oponnent My strategy is usually to make a couple of moves and hope the oponnent dos some stupid things I actually notice. Then I may try and tkae advantage of it. Otherwise, I'd lose right away.
Now my cousin, who is three years younger, is actually a decent chess player. Won a few first prizes and runner-ups in Groningen, and I think in the rest of the Netherlands as well. But he's hardly ever online, and I think he prefers beating everyone face to face

Sorry, not much help here

EDIT: I just remembered: I've lost from the computer in easy mode more times than I've won

That's too bad guys
At least you read some chess-related magazines

And Legolas, you're right about beating someone face to face.
To actually see your opponent' face, when you've just played the decisive move, nothing even comes close to that feeling
