Warning Forever eh Link? It's surprisingly addictive isn't it. A bitch to beat the time limit though. But it's good for those nights when you've hurt your brain too much and need something simple but flashy. And it takes approx 0.02% of resources to play!..

1) Warcraft 3
2) Baldurs Gate 1 3) Total Annhiliation : Kingdoms 4) Shogun Total War 5) Civ 2 6) IWD 7) NWN 8) AoE 2 9) HL 10)Wolfenstein. I did this a while ago but it was over all platforms, PS2 etc. List seems fine but I'm sure I've missed something out. Not far behind were Thief 1, 2, 3, Morrowind, C&C Generals, and the likes. Probably forgetting one or two in here. Nevertheless of the top of my head:
1) ADoM (roguelike excellence) 2) Darklands (try it!) 3) Daggerfall 4) Baldurs Gate 5) Fronteer Elite 6) Colonization 7) Pirates (Gold) 8) Dark Sun 9) Transport Tycoon 10) Dungeon Hack There are no adventure games in there. That doesn't mean I haven't played any or enjoyed them - they just have zero replay value. SotMI, BaSS and similar were all great one time experiences.

ooh, Mad=Dog - good call on Darklands!! I had forgotten about that. That game was amazing.
I also forgot about Age of Wonders, which hasn't been mentioned in any of its incarnations (but Shadow Magic is particularly worthy I think). Ross, about TA:Kingdoms...didn't you just love the endless combat of it all? lol...those battles were truly wars of very slight attrition because the resources were so unending and the defenses were so powerful. |
