Zink Whistlefly 09-01-2005 07:39 AM

I'm sure favourite games lists have been done here before, but this time it's different The aim is to produce a list of top 10 PC games <u>of all time</u> as voted by IW users, based on a point score system.

If everyone posts their top 10 favourite PC games of all time, I'll continously update a master list in this post.

The scoring system will be 10 points for the number 1 game choice, moving down to 1 point for the number 10 game choice, with the definitive list being built based on the total points for each game as voted by each user.

EDIT: Treat sequels as separate entries in your list, but don't treat expansions or mods as individual items.

Here's my list:

1. Baldur's Gate II
2. Neverwinter Nights
3. Counterstrike
4. Freespace II
5. Total Annihilation: Kingdoms
6. Unreal
7. Half Life
8. Ignition
9. Planescape Torment
10. Elite 2: Frontier

<u><span style="color: #ffffff; font-size: 22px;">The definitive IW list:</u>

(up to Griefmaker, Tue 20 Sept)

<span style="color: #999999;">2. Baldur's Gate (182 points)
<span style="color: #CC6600;">3. Neverwinter Nights (118 points)
4. Morrowind (93 points)
5. Planescape: Torment (81 points)
6. Icewind Dale (71 points)
7. Civilisation II (64 points)
8. Fallout II (49 points)
9. Warcraft III (43 points)
10. Knights of the Old Republic (41 points)

<u><span style="color: #ffffff; font-size: 16px;">Honorable Mentions:</u>

12. Icewind Dale II (36 points)
13. Civilisation III (34 points)

Oh man I haven't played any new games for about 2 years, so my list'd be older games, but who cares eh?

It's hard to list 'em but here goes:

1. Heroes of Might and Magic IV
2. Civilisation 2 (only cos I haven't played the newer ones probably :D )
3. Baldur's Gate II
4. Warcraft 3
5. Elite 3: First Encounters
6. Red Alert 2 (only cos I haven't played the newer ones prob. )
7. Transport Tycoon
8. Age of Mythology
9. Syndicate Wars
10. Unreal Tournament

damn I could hardly think of 10 games I used to like playing!

Sever 09-01-2005 08:18 AM

1. DOOM
2. Morrowind
3. BG2
4. System Shock 2
5. System Shock
6. GTA: Vice City
7. Hexen
8. BG
9. NWN
10. Diablo

That was hard. I need to get out more. Can't see much of my list makin' it onto the IW top ten. But we'll see.

Just a thought, Zink. If you ask the powers that be (very nicely), they might agree to a sticky for this thread. And keep it constantly updated as more votes are tallied.

My top 10 favourite PC games...I’ve not played any ‘new’ ones either.

1. NWN
2. Championship Manager (various updates of)
3. Elite
4. Earth 2150: Moon Project / Lost Souls
5. Unreal (Unreal Tournament)
6. Wizardry 8
7. Civilisation 2
8. Sim City
9. Medal of Honour: Allied Assault
10. Transport Tycoon

Crumbs that was difficult. I'm bound to think of others as soon as I click "Add Reply"

I usually avoid "whats your favorite game" because my taste tends to change. However I think I'll drop a list here.

By the way I presume expansions dont count as separate games but sequels do? So BG2 and ToB are one game only, while Heroes of Might and Magic 2 and Heroes of Might and Magic 3 are two separate games.

 1. Baldur's Gate</font>
 2. Warcraft 2</font>
 3. Jagged Alliance</font>
 4. Baldur's Gate 2</font>
 5. Warlords 2</font>
 6. Icewind Dale</font>
 7. Icewind Dale 2</font>
 8. Imperialism</font>
 9. Neverwinter Nights</font>
 10. Half-Life</font>
With Starcraft taking 11th place had it been there.

1. Call of Duty (Although I don't play it as much as I used to, it was a big milestone in my gaming life)
2. Counterstrike: Source (Mwah!)
3. Halflife (1, 2, and all the expansions. God-like.)
4. Doom 3 (ARGH!)
5. Guild Wars
6. Brothers in Arms
7. Sven-Coop (All the fun of singleplayer and Multiplayer combined)
8. Vietcong
9. Soldat (Simple but fun)
10. Medieval: Total War (Better than R:TW IMO)

Eight FPSs, only one RPG. Why am I even here?

Holy crapola, these have come in thick and fast - I can't keep up lol. I'll probably resort to daily updates if this continues.

Good point ZFR, and good idea! Let's treat sequels as separate elements, and ignore expansions and mods.

So on that note Jaradu - what do you want me to do about your list with the Half Life positions?

I'm not sure if this is worthy of a sticky Sever, but thanks for the suggestion. It should hover near the top-ish over the next few days anyway .

I knew I would remember a game that I like very much, and should be on that list. Heroes of Might and Magic 3 rocks!
